There is one group of people who will get quite annoyed that sky's screenings are only half full:
The movie promoters who gave the film to sky in the first place.
They want full screenings to maximise word of mouth promotion.
If sky's measures result in lower box office receipts for the film makers, then sky will either have to lower their security or lose the right to screen movies.
By ensuring that screenings are full, we are doing the promoters and sky a favour.

You would think that to be true, but no ones told the cinema managers yet.
It was a struggle to get into Brixton on sunday because no one had print outs as we were told it was a guest list.
The screening was only 10% full but yet they were still willing to turn people away

I was simply trying to give a perspective from a Sky Movie subscriber who was fed up with never getting tickets when Sky previews were released. There was no argument intended - just an opinion from a different viewpoint.
Yes, I do go to other preview screenings and if I need a copy of a magazine or newspaper to show at the cinema, I will b*y one. Often, family members get tickets.
Of course, in an ideal world, every preview screening should be full, but it is unfair to selectively pick out Sky previews and say they are now only half full, which, incidently hasn't been the case when in my area, when there are lots of empty seats at lots other film previews.
Many seats aren't filled because either selfish people don't cancel their tickets if they aren't going to the screening or because not enough people want to see the film in the first place.
Sky's policy now is ‘Tickets are released in phases to offer a range of customers a chance to claim’.

Well case in point, I am pretty sure the screening of Frozen I went to at the Prince Charles organised by Lovefilm was never meant to be full. I am sure they didn't give out tickets for the whole cinema, but its more important they had a particular target audience. Sometimes it's not just about bums on seats for the film company but it's more about getting the right target audience so they get the right feedback.
Other times, it's like the tellten screenings, they do want bums on seats, as they want people to spread good word of mouth around, so it varies from screening to screening.

Yes but they limit what is released on this. It does differ to what a normal sky user may see. They only release tickets when not many people have bothered getting tickets for (as with Bedlam & Mad Dogs) hence the link. Yogi Bear is on there but it's not the entire list but some Dublin one only...

I have a completely different beef with this issue - I AM a sky movies subscriber - p*ying lots of my hard earned cash to have all these channels that I never seem to have the time to watch... yet I STILL cant get these damn free tickets because everytime I try to log into it, I get an error message saying:
Sorry we have been unable to log you in. If there is another email address registered for your Sky account / household then please use that email address to log in. Otherwise contact support@skyscreenings.com quoting the error code SAMID 2-11131885-LGN.
And support at sky screenings are no help, they keep telling me they have fixed it and everytime it happens again. Very very frustrating
