Im anticipating the new skulduggery book "Mortal Coil" for my birthday in 2 weeks
No doubt it will be read in a day, loving the series so far!
It is classed as a 'teen' novel but i personaly think any adult with a sense of humour would thouroughly enjoy them!

id also recommend the darren shan saga AND the demonata saga by Darren Shan
the first is a 12 book series about vampires, which unfortunately imo, was turned into Cirque Du Freak: The Vampires Assistant, the not so enjoyable kids film...the books are VERY different, much more complex and trust me, alot more gorey!

as for demonata, i think it should be an adult horror, all about demons trying to invade our world, finished as a 10 book saga

as well as pride and prejudice AND zombies

Ive also read the full twilight saga, harry potter(uncommon to find someone who hasnt lately!), the host(by stephanie meyer author of twilight, VERY good sci fi novel for adults, possible movie in the making rumors have emerged!) and Im on the last book of the sookie stackhouse novels, or more commonly known as the trueblood series off tv(shame the series doesnt follow the books though!)

I've not read a good book in ages, recently I've just been flicking through previous reads.
I'm think of checking out The Hunger Games though as everyone keeps telling me how good they are.

I'm currently reading The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. I'm about half way through and enjoying it but think i prefer the film to the book. As the film is quite family orientated, it misses out much of the gruesome details regarding Susie's murder and i also liked the visual effects.
May change my mind though when i finish the book which i'm hoping to do quite soon as i have plenty of other books to read.

Anyone do Audible? Its my new passion being so old, I can't be bothered to listen to music on the mp3 so this is a great alternative. So far I've done Vanity Fare, which was excellent and was about 18 hours long

then after that I did The Four Musketeers, which could have been good, but, I remember the films so well. OLiver Reed, Michael York, Richard Chamberlain and Frank Finlay? In fact I just b*ght the films on a good deal from Amazon.

Yesterday I started Prince of Thieves by Chuck Hogan which is the book that The Town was based on. Read by Donnie Whalberg.

As for actual reading, that's only at night in bed, and tends to be murder crime thrillers at the moment vx

I'm devouring the latest Kate Atkinson ("Started Early, Took My Dog"). If only she were more prolific, but at least the scarcity of a new book ensures it's a treat.

I love Audio-Books. I don't prefer them to reading but at night I like to listen to a chapter or so of something before I go to sleep.

For anyone who enjoys a great detective novel, I can recommend ‘The Scarecrow’ by Michael Connelly. The story revolves round Jack McEvoy, who is a crime writer for the LA Times. He plans to make his last story a Pulitzer. His investigation into a crime leads him to a killer known as The Scarecrow. I could hardly put it down.

No, I haven't really taken to audio books yet. Time enough I suppose. I much prefer the written word. I notice that you also like murder crime thrillers - this is easily my favourite genre. I enjoy Kathy Reichs, Patricia Cornwell, Michael Connelly, Lee Child to name but a few.

I've just finished reading Fear the Worst by Linwood Barclay. It's the first time I've read one of his books. A good storyline, which kept me turning the pages and reading more than I should have done before turning my light off. Recommended.

i'm reading the girl with the dragon tattoo after seeing the film last year. i don't want to watch the other 2 films until i've read the books. but it's taking me ages as i'm finding it quite taxing and i only really read at bed time so it's hard to concentrate!
