Re: Despicable Me
I stayed back at the end and collected some unused 3d glasses. I expect them to be useful before long when we yorkies have one of our get togethers.

Wow, the Greenwich screening sounds terrible, I hope you all complain. Fingers crossed for some free passes at least and it sounds like the staff were quite rude as well, so an apology wouldn't go a miss.
To think I was getting slightly frustrated in Manchester by having to queue outside until 10 minutes before the film started, then scramble in and find a seat. We were lucky I guess! Although I did have to go back to work after the film until gone midnight, so that might have had a bit to do with it.
Glad I managed to fit the film into my busy work day, thought it was really good fun. Good mix of stuff for the kids, big kids and the odd joke for the adults, such as the Bank of Evil sign.
Not a fan of 3D, but thought it was well used. Especially liked all the gags during the end credits and you really felt like you were in the rollercoaster at the funfair, thats probably the best bit of 3D I've experienced.

Re: Despicable Me
Yeah epic fail by Cineworld Greenwich. We left after the second false start as we couldnt bear to watch the start for a third time and we were lucky enough to have seen it in 3D back in August at Westfield. Such a shocking display by Cineworld staff who really didnt seem to care. A strongly worded email to Sky awaits someone this morning at extras@bskyb.com!

Re: Despicable Me
The Cineworld staff attitude cannot really be attributed to Sky though, which is why I would complain to Cineworld as well. A double whammy is always more effective anyway.
Re: Despicable Me

Re: Despicable Me
I was also at Greenwich last night. It was an utter shambles. Started off well, got to seats to see water and popcorn but experienced what everyone else has already said. I stayed until the end so watched the film in 2D but I was disappointed that we didn't get the full 3D effect. Well, we didn't even get the full 2D film uninterrupted as the lights came on and the sound of the film disappeared, all at a crucial moment of the film. I thought if Cineworld had a decent customer service they would be offering people cinema vouchers to revisit at a later time. But no such luck.
I saw many people leave, I was wondering if they were being offered the opportunity to see something else but it sounds like those who did get up, all just left.
Anyway it was a very good film which I'd give 8/10. It may have been higher if I had been able to see it in 3D and without incident. After the third start I was starting to feel a bit weary. Some of those kids must have been very tired, especially if they had a long journey to get to and from the O2. The staff didn't seem bothered at all, Cineworld management get a thumbs down from me.

Re: Despicable Me
Just complained to Cineworld. I think that the reason the staff attitude was so bad was that we didn't p*y for the film. No kidding, I still thought it was disgraceful, their behaviour, but I'm sure that if we had pa*d to go and see it and this had happened they would have at least handed out refunds. But no, they couldn't care less..

Re: Despicable Me
Wow...sorry to hear about the screening at Greenwich! sounds really bad...
Re: Despicable Me
I saw this last night at Greenwich as well, I’ve never experienced anything like that before, I stayed till the end, but by the time they’d restarted it for a third time my patience was rapidly wearing out. Thought it was nice to give us popcorn and water, was not expecting that. I thought the staff attitude was dreadful, I've never been to that cinema before so I'm not sure if there're usually like that, apart from that its one of the nicest cinemas I've been to.
I loved this film, its my favourite film so far this year, it was a good mix for adults and kids, I want my own minion
10/10
