ROBERT LINDSAY IN ONASSS - TONIGHT!!!

We have a few complimentary tickets available to Onassis at the Novello Theatre for TONIGHT, Saturday and Monday.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A NEW SHOW AND IT IS REALLY IMPORTANT TO GET YOUR FEEDBACK IF YOU ARE LUCKY ENOUGH TO GET TICKETS!

The twentieth century was full of larger than life supermen and superwomen, from the monsters like Hitler to the saints like Mother Teresa. The Greek super-rich have occupied a particular place in this pantheon, and in his time Aristotle Onassis was the richest and most prominent of all, at least in the eyes of the general public. Just as the Russian proverb says that Moscow is “a city without limits’, so the Onassis life seemed to be ‘without limits, in terms of money, sex, power and infinite freedom. Onassis seemed to be able to go where he liked, make money beyond the dreams of avarice, sleep with the most beautiful women and influence world events. These threads all converged in his passion for Jacqueline Kennedy.

The life of a millionaire ship-owner also seemed to be peculiarly symbolic, in that he grew up in the chaos of the eastern Mediterranean after the First World War and the 1923 Smyrna Disaster when most Greeks had to leave what is now modern Turkey. It is a horrible overused word, but his path was truly iconic, applied to a man coming from a culture where the family icons were often all that could be carried with you out of the old Asia Minor home after the wreckage of war. His ruthless ambition and overwhelming egotism can be traced to those days, when all he owned as a young man arriving to make his fortune in Buenos Aires were the clothes he stood up in.

He was obsessed with the ancient Homeric stories of heroes and gods, and for many years read little else. The ancient gods had similar lives in his opinion to the mid-twentieth century super-rich, acting beyond practical limits. In their own way, the Kennedy clan in the United States was similar, with a near royal status above society. Both had elements who seemed to think that the moral law was irrelevant to them, from Onassis’ ruthless early deals with ex-World War Two ‘Liberty Ships’ in New York that laid the foundations of his major fortune, to Joseph Kennedy’s indifference to the fate of the United Kingdom facing Nazi Germany.

We have a few complimentary tickets available to Vanbrugh String Quartet at Cadogen Hall, starting tonight!

Beethovens string quartet output spans his entire creative career. Not only are the quartets masterpieces in their own right, but they also clearly outline the course of his career.
Based in Cork, the Vanbrugh String Quartet is one of Europes most successful ensembles, internationally recognised for its beauty of sound, clarity of texture and integrity of interpretation.
The set of six string quartets, Op.18, saw Beethoven exploring new compositional territory. Though grounded in the classical tradition of Haydn and Mozart, these quartets demonstrate new attitudes and techniques, while being more traditional than his later quartets.

We have a few complimentary tickets available to Krapps Last Tape and to Onassis tonight, and to an OPERA at the London Colliseum, and a play at the Soho Theatre!

Due to a group booking cancellation we have a few tickets available to Radamisto at the London Collisem TONIGHT:

A new production of the work that launched the composer's 20-year reign as London's Lord of Italian opera - one not to be missed. PLEASE REMEMBER TO BE DISCREET AND NOT CHATTER ABOUT THE CLUB WHILST INSIDE THE ENO

PLEASE NOTE 7pm START

Following Christopher Alden's Olivier Award-winning production of Partenope in 2008, ENO strengthens its position as the undisputed 'House of Handel' with a new production of the work that launched the composer's 20-year reign as London's lord of Italian opera. Premiered to celebrate the reconciliation of George I and his estranged son, the Prince of Wales, Radamisto is a tale of feuding royal families, torn apart by illicit and irrational passions.
Conducted by leading Handelian Laurence Cummings and starring exciting young countertenor Lawrence Zazzo, this lavish and exotic new staging is directed by the multi-award-winning David Alden, whose Ariodante has long been admired as a jewel in ENO's Handelian crown.
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU MUST BE DISCREET AND NOT CHATTER ABOUT THE CLUB WHILST INSIDE THE ENO.

Loretta Maine
I'M NOT DRUNK I JUST WANT TO TALK TO YOU

Since moving to the UK from the US, Loretta has been disappointed by people’s inability to see her genius. She is an incredible talent, as we can see on her two self-released EPs 'I Had Your Baby But I Threw It In The River' and the current 'I’m Not Drunk I Just Need To Talk To You'.

Loretta will be performing at Soho Theatre to promote the latter EP with her band DogVagina, singing hits telling tales of her shitty life.
