How safe is your password?
I use pcpitstop fairly regularly to check up on my computer's performance. (It is free, and it is fine even if you are not that into techie things. It does plug some products, but also tells you how to do things free.)
They had a link to an article on "What's my password? The top 500 worst passwords of all time"
http://www.whatsmypass.com/the-top-500- ... f-all-time
Well, I know someone who has the No. 1 password, and one of mine is in the top 50, as is my sister's main password. Are any of your passwords here? (Don't tell us what they are though!)
Oh, and can anyone explain why 0 is on twice????

Re: How safe is your password?
ahaha one of my password is in the top 20! oops (better changeeeeee)
well my password for emails contains letters, numbers and symbols (8 characters)
then some other sites I use the same passwords as my BFs depending on the security required for them and we have like 4 different ones to choose from
I know all my BFs passwords but he doesn't know my facebook and emails (msn messenger)
thanks Cortone...interesting to check out

Re: How safe is your password?
I recommend using a password generator, like
http://www.pctools.com/guides/password/
Remembering them might be daunting but it only takes entering it about a dozen times and you're set...
Or if you want proper password security, use something like KeePass and never type a password into your browser again. You can even put it on a USB stick and access your passwords on the go...

Re: How safe is your password?
Glad my passwords are not on the list but surely the dogs/cats/hamster's names or the children's names are very poplular within famiies...ok for somethings but dangerious for bank accounts etc
Best to change them once a month..now that's calling the kettle black

Re: How safe is your password?
I can tell you now from a techie point of view that if you want a safe password you password needs to be 8 characters long and needs to have numbers and well as letters.
The past is history, the future is a mystery, today is a gift that why it is called the present!!
