the language/violence would be a bit much maybe, i would definitely watch it first before commiting to it. Personally i thought it was great, but i think it would appeal to a slightly younger audience than that of a silverscreen, maybe more of a mainstream one though. (Intermission with mr farrell would be a belter of a double bill with in bruges)
I was just wondering...

How about sing along versions of films?
jesus christ superstar for december! dress up mandatory!

Never said it in the previous post but I think its amazing what allsinging and yourself are doing here, it must be a dream come true to be organising a event schedule, but extremely difficult to remain impartial between what you personally would love to show and what the public may wish to see. The people of selby are in for a treat!

I thought In Bruges was fab and Mamma Mia definitely has to be sing-a-long! I went to one which wasn't and was really unhappy as I wanted to sing but no one else did so I just sat there. Still enjoyed the film though.

I think you've got a great list of films so far, certainly a lot I would see but not enough for the children in that mixture yet. A certain winner would be Star Trek if you can get it.

Mamma Mia will be so much fun..really looking forward to that one :p Note to Pete don't sit too near :La la la laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar

Yes Star Trex too will have to find out when its available...quite a few people have asked for weekend trilogies like Star Wars the main films, Godfather etc...hey Pete, we could press play and then tell them to lock up on the way out, should finish by Sunday lunch :D

I'm not sure the crucifixion scene would be quite the right thing to get everyone in the Christmas mood! :noo:
I once went hiking with M. C. Escher. It was uphill all the way there and uphill all the way back.

Singalong For Sound Of Music has been very popular in London but it may be copyrighted in that format now?

Or why not a documentary like End of the Line or Age of Stupid, or even The Yes Men Fix the World, that's funny as well. It's only just coming out in the cinemas but I doubt it will have a big distribution. I saw it at a SROA screening with both Yes Men present, and there is a special screening at the Greenwich Picturehouse on Tuesday with a satellite Q&A with the Yes Men. In a few months from now you could put that on I am sure!

The cunning plan:

The Silver Screen Cinema will be run by a friend and 5 helpers, both Pete and I will overlook, the same for the evening one..that way everyone has a small part once a month and it doesn’t take advantage of peoples time. We will sort out the films, advertising and grants ect. Otherwise we will be running around like headless chickens..LOL well i will dragging Pete behind me...bless, he so lovely :p

When running smoothly and if we’ve still got the energy, I’d love to use the same model to start a Saturday cinema. For the meantime we could try not to use too many 15 cert so family's can attend….thanks Beate that’s a good idea

Sounds good too, I’ll look into them, thanks Guy's you're all brill o/
Maybe you could show some of the 'family' films to your silverscreen groups, that way you won't overlap when you come to show Saturday cinema. Some family films might appeal to older cinemagoers especially as there wouldn't be any young children running arouond. Maybe not WallE but I'm sure some others could be possibilities.
