A fabulous actor in a vast number of quality films. It was also a real privilege to see him 'up close' on the London fringe.

I really could hardly believe it when I heard tonight. A real loss to British theatre and cinema.

Very sad news. He was a great actor and when I was lucky enough to work with him he came across as a really nice guy as well

must have been the heart, poor blighter.

he had such a strained look about his face, i wonder if anyone would notice he was having a heart attack for the first few minutes. he's always looked so old, i thought he was nearly 80. sad to go early.

marvellous actor, you expected him to play all sorts of roles. at one point i thougth he was the bad guy in Last of The Mohicans.

I work in film/tv as part of the on-set sound crew and I did a film with him a couple of years ago. A true gentlemen.
