Re: Adventureland
Saw at Glasgow cineworld, seemed quite empty considering Glasgow screenings are usually busy. Got ID checked! Did anyone else? We were using tickets kindly donated to us so I just said we'd been given the tickets by a friend and thankfully he let us past. As to the film, I really liked it it's my kind of film, OH really didn't want to see it but thought it was ok as well (because 'Kristen Stewart is fit', probably the same reason he wants to watch Twilight
) anyway I liked the kind of geeky but sweet romance, there was a fair few laughs and it was interesting to see how James's parents money problems halted his college dream as I expect a lot of people are going through the same thing at the moment. I'd say 7/10.

Re: Adventureland
I saw this on Monday. This film certainly had American Indie written all over it.(I love them films bye the way) just this one just didn’t hit the spot. I wasn’t a fan of the whole 80’s backdrop. The film could have been set in anytime space, I guess the whole 80’s clothes and rehashed soundtrack that we have all heard before, was just disguise for what was essentially a average film. This was only my opinion, some of the audience seemed to dig it. 6/10
On a final note I would say, I would say watch Donnie Darko, or In Search of the Midnight kiss , which is much more successful or even better a John Hughes film.
Oh and I agree with Phase VI comment about Kristen Stewart, she seems to be the new Rachel Wood.

Re: Adventureland
I saw this last Friday on a delta flight back from new york. I quite enjoyed it but agree with several other posts that it's more of a TV movie and not something I would really want to p*y for.
It's very indie in that not...much...happens. But having said that, it's kind of refreshing to see a more realistic depiction of growing up, first love etc than hollywood usually provides. I also liked how the actors are not all model perfect types as we normally see in movies about young people. Performances were good and it has a cool soundtrack.

Re: Adventureland
Saw this in the last week, agree with above comments - just your average indie flick :/
Was a little disappointed, so 6/10 from me.

For more opinions, and to post your own, visit the Adventureland thread...I thought this was a pleasant, if undistinguished teen movie and an enjoyable way to pass a couple of hours. Interesting to see Ryan Reynolds playing a very different type to his character in "The Proposal", which of course is still showing widely. My only quibble was with the ending, as it seemed to drag on a bit or to be about to end, only to carry on again. Really it could have ended at several different points in the last, say, 15 minutes, without making much difference to the whole. 7/10 from me.
Top 50 Poster!
Re: Adventureland
I saw this last Monday at Stevenage...
Interesting to see the fairly apathetic response to it overall, I thought it was a decent movie despite being rather predictable and yes, quite slow-paced - although I quite often like movies that way. Also, I fully agree with the comment that the main character looked a lot like Alan Davies, I couldn't put that out of my head through the whole thing! Probably would give it a 7/10, some amusing parts and quite good as a movie you don't have to think too much about as you watch it.

Re: Adventureland
I saw this last monday too.
Bit boring, not as good as I expected it to be. Just an average film. If you haven't seen it yet, you haven't missed much.

Re: Adventureland
I just realised that Bill Hader and Ryan reynolds are in this film.
Seen as im missing the screening as I'll be hanging around Gatwick, it wants to be on on the plane, i love Bill Hader!
And this is already out on DVD in the US, a bit random.
