The Lincoln Lawyer
I caught this the trailer for this film earlier today. I am a big fan of Michael Connelly's novels, and am looking forward to seeing this interpretation of the book on the big screen. I thought that Matthew McConaughey seemed to be doing a decent job - to be honest I have not liked him in anything I've seen him in yet. For those who have not read this book, it is a very good story.
Mickey Haller (Matthew McConaughey) is a Los Angeles criminal defense attorney who operates out of the back of his Lincoln Continental sedan. Haller has spent most of his career defending garden-variety criminals, until he lands the case of a lifetime: defending a Beverly Hills playboy accused of murder. But the seemingly straightforward case suddenly develops into a deadly game of survival for Haller.
Director: Brad Furman
Starring:
Matthew McConaughey ... Mickey Haller
Marisa Tomei ... Maggie McPherson
Ryan Phillippe ... Louis Roulet
William H. Macy ... Frank Levin
Michael Pena
Trace Adkins
UK Release Date: possibly 18th March, 2010

Re: The Lincoln Lawyer
I quite liked the book although it's not one of my favourite by Connelly. The cast is putting me off quite a lot though - McConaughey is generally just very smarmy and annoying, and Phillippe's just a bit rubbish.

Re: The Lincoln Lawyer
I think McConaughey has a lot of charm, charisma and talent that he never gets to show off, plus Marissa Tomei, Michael Peña, Bryan Cranston, Bill Macy and John Leguizamo are pretty damn cool.

Wow, it's out tomorrow already? There hasn't been much talk about this film, I am interested too

I'm also interested but confused by the mixed critical reviews so far. Too few public reviews on IMDB for a score yet; Time Out only awarded 2/5 but Metro 3/5 and Mail 4/5. So no idea what to think.

If enough people rate it sufficiently highly, I'm prepared to p*y, and it's on at 2 cinemas near me but unfortunately not the chains which take Nectar points or Odeon vouchers. I'd have to p*y £7.50 at the nearest one and think Cineworld is even dearer on Fridays.

Would have to be a really good film to make me p*y to watch, I've seen the trailers and I'm not sold.
