OMG! Elizabeth Taylor! After so many pretty much unknowns and non-filmy people in the thread comes a monumental loss.

RIP. Queen of Silver Screen. Much loved. Will be much missed.

no offence but just because people are "unknowns" or "non filmy" doesn't mean their passing is less deserving of comment or respect. but maybe i misunderstood your comment

You did misunderstand. I was merely emphasising how much of a loss to the film world she'll be, especially so after a run of lesser known passings.

Gosh. That is a shock!
I did a research project on him and on Direct Cinema
at Uni and we did a long interview with him at the time.
He was a really lovely man!

RIP Elizabeth Taylor. Interesting piece of trivia is that she was 15 minutes late to her own funeral.

Farley Granger, star of Hithcock's Stranger on a Train and ROPE, died at the age of 85. These are the only 2 films I remember him in and that's probably because, he didn't have a long Hollywood career as he left it in favour of theatres. Hitchcock really liked him and wanted him in his other films such as Birds but he declined due to his theatre commitments.
