Virginia Wade won Wimbledon 1975, so why is everyone saying a British player has not won in 73 years? I know they mean the Men's Wimbledon championship but no one talks about Virginia Wade.

It was 1977 not 1975, its easy to remember as it was the Queen's Silver Jubilee.

She did not get her OBE until 1986, which was the year she retired. Tim Henman got on OBE in December 2003, just after he won the Paris Masters.

That doesn't seem right either...
