Re: Blended
Saw this last night in Glasgow Quay.
I loved this. Thought it was hilarious....think I was in the mood for a feel good film that you didn't have to give much thought to it. Yes it was predictable but made me laugh out loud throughout (as karenlg123 will confirm!)
I love a rom com....no matter how cheesy...and this one did the trick!
8.5/10 from me.

I would be posting my opinions of the film here. But I am currently prevented from doing so by Warner Bros.

I get what you mean about the racism but not the mistreatment of animals. Useless you mean the scenes with
the birds?
umral wrote:Where to start with this? How about - borderline racism? mistreatment of animals? yet another reason never to visit Sun City?
So difficult to decide which were the more irritating, the adults or the children. A painfully dull, overlong, formulaic film that delivers leaden punchlines to highly improbable set-ups. It pushes all the buttons, yet nothing happens. The only funny scene was the surprise cameo from Proteas paceman Dale Steyn. Avoid.

Well now that the studio aren't breathing down my neck anymore here's my review:LondonCityNights wrote:I would be posting my opinions of the film here. But I am currently prevented from doing so by Warner Bros.

Unsurprisingly I pretty much hated it. Thought it was racist, unfunny and (worst of all) boring. I don't really understand the brains of people that like this.

There's no need to be rude. Some of us did find it funny and surprised even ourselves.LondonCityNights wrote:Well now that the studio aren't breathing down my neck anymore here's my review:LondonCityNights wrote:I would be posting my opinions of the film here. Re: Blended
I think of free screenings as a chance to have a night out with my hubby and kids ( teens not littlies ) if its dire we haven't pa*d so can walk out and if its anything better then that's a bonus.
Norwich odeon was packed and filled with laughter we all loved it from my teen daughter to my hubby ( a few decades older )
I'd even consider p*ying to see it if I hadn't seen it free 9/10

Re: Blended
Dumb, predictable and overlong....but I rather enjoyed it. I think it helps not having high expectations. I detest Adam Sandler and so I was ready to hate this. But there were several laugh-out-loud moments and for most of the film I was smiling. There were no plot twists or final-reel surprises, it seemed to have been scripted by committee and several looking-at-camera moments were unfunny. But it was lightweight and frothy on the whole. I don't get the racism and sexist criticisms above; there's too much kneejerk reaction around these topics and I wish everyone would just lighten up about a film that is not trying to make major social statements or preach sociological sermons - it's entertainment, dammit!

Re: Blended
Sometimes people do say things here they probably don't mean and people can take things the wrong way. "Either watch it or don't watch it. Reading other people's opinions before watching then saying this might have skewed their opinion of the film is just a stupid thing to do imo." and that's a quote from you Sparrow in reference to the film Locke. And one FMUKer has left FMUK because of it. So we should all be careful what we write. The Sparrow wrote:There's no need to be rude.
