Yeah I get scared too when the Dementors come outbevd77 wrote:I am really looking forward to this one....my kids are hugh HP fans. My only worry is that my youngest who is 6 may be a little scared by it! He was quite scared by the last one, so we are in two minds whether to take him to this one of not.....or maybe wait for the dvd so we can press fast forward on the scary bits! lol xxx

I think....you should help him by covering his ears (don't like the scary music lolz makes me imagine stuff) and then maybe to get your husband to cover his eyes lolz that's what I do....except I'm nearly 20 years older than your son!
I was going to prebook this on its' release date but Odeon doesn't allow you to select your seats anymore! Where as two years ago when I pre-booked, at least my friend and I knew that we were going to be seated together on the second row from the front (not cool being giraffes though the fact we saw it the it was released was cool lolz)
I'm re-reading the book but it's so heavy to commute with!
Re: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
yes bubblez I know what you mean about the Dementors - I thought they were so scary. We have all the Harrp Potters on DVD and my youngest does like them....but when the Dementors come on he hides behind the Sofa!
Think I might just take the oldest one with us and let the little on wait for the DVD......let me know how you get on with the book.
Am ashamed to admit Ive not read any of them....although seen each film countless times! lol

I saw the trailer last night at Boldon - it looked very scary - and dark. I think younger children will be terrified. And so will I, probably.
I have just got back from Tesco - How I loathe food shopping - but here's some good news - I have picked up the Harry Potter box Set, with the first five films in for a mere £15. Now I've got my own set, and won't have to keep borrowing them from my son.

Re: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
Potter has a magical day at the box office.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince has cast its spell at the worldwide box office - it made over $100 million in its first 24 hours.
The latest Potter movie took nearly 60 million in the US and $46 million worldwide.
It's the biggest opening for the franchise, and vindicated the other studios reason to not open one of their major films against the teen wizard.
A spokesperson for Warner Bros said, "With many countries yet to open, these already outstanding box office numbers are another testament to the universal appeal of J.K. Rowling's stories and the work of everyone behind the Harry Potter films."
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince was originally due to be released last November but was pushed back to the summer to attract a bigger audience. A decision that seems to have proved a wise one.

Re: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
Saw Harry Potter and the Half blood Prince at Castleford Last night. Every screening was sold out apart from the 6pm one which we lucky enough to catch.
The plot was quite good although a little slow in places. The relationships between the teenagers developed well with some amusing moments. I think they should have stuck to the book a little closer as there was no mystery to solve...shame you were shown what was going on almost from the beginning. I expect those that have followed the books and films will enjoy the film but others not so die-hard will not. Still a good movie and well worth a watch.
Good film and a must see for those that have grown up reading the books

Saw the film and witout giving anything away- as a reader i was a bit disapointed
Re: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
Saw film last night- I was a big fan of the books when I was younger (still am a fan but was very disappointed by 7th book) and have grown used to the films never meeting my expectations. That said I thought the fifth film was really good, the acting is certainly much better and although it seemed a bit more angsty and teenage than the others, it was also a lot more dark and atmospheric and I think it worked well. There was the usual problem that loads of stuff from the book was missing but I still really enoyed it and it's definitely my favourite blockbuster of the summer

Re: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
I am a big fan of Harry Potter books and films alike. So, I really couldn’t wait for the 6th movie any longer. I booked well in advance and went to see at the Imax for an extra thrill. But this time I was quite disappointed!
I understand the book has to be adapted for the screen. However, I think this adaptation really KILLED the book. I didn’t see the need or the point for adding an extra tale to the book when the story has enough action already. And I would say the action in the book is amazing and breathtaking. Why, for example, (1) set the Burrow on fire or (2) shatter the millennium bridge?
I believe that of all the movies so far it was the least appealing and attention-grabbing. Does anybody else feel the same? Or were only my two friends and me that left the cinema disappointed?
I hope the next two movies are more exciting.
For sure, one thing we already know, the Helga Hufflepuff’s tiara won’t be found in the room of requirements by the Half Blood Prince’s potion book. I am not being a purist but the movie just lacked excitement.
