And they charge atrocious prices for those shitty seats!

It wasn't me Syd! Although I kept kicking the person in front of me. I just couldn't sit and and I desperately needed to move about. You must have walked in same time as I! I got in at 6:20pm!

If anyone saw a woman in a blue fleece trying to help the usher out a bit in the Empire, that was my mother. Who, despite struggling to see the screen, though I gave her the better of the two views we had, enjoyed her first trip to a cinema since Hot Fuzz.

I can't believe what a crappy incline that screen had, and how loud were the surrounds, sometimes dialogue that was meant to be clear was drowned out entirely.

Still, an excellent film, if a tad too bloated. Even though I missed 1/3 of the frame, when I next see it, in IMAX, that 1/3 should be crystal clear, and woe betide any head gets in my way that time...
Of course the film had to open with subtitles and end with the significant focus at the bottom of the frame, this, of course, was sod's law in process. 9/10

I got to Empire Leicester Square at 5.50pm and the queue was already out of the door on to the Square! We were told there was not long to wait as the doors open at 6pm and we would be let in. However, my friends were running late, and the ticket collector said it was first come first served as they were overbooked, so managed to get OH to bag seats while I waited for them. I got a text from a_person to say she was running late, so text beate as I could not get my OH to save yet another seat!

What a rubbish screen - as said before - couldn't see the bottom of the screen properly and was just thinking to myself that it was a good job the film was not subtitled as I would not be able to see it and, within seconds, there were subtitles, so had to laugh!

On to the film - it was intense, very heavy and dramatic - wow, it was way too complicated for my poor head - after the third layer of dreams, I actually got a bit bored, thinking how many more dreams are they going to go to and ouch (head hurting)! But the filming and acting were superb.
The ending reminded me of Repo Man's ending.
7/10

oh, on my way home, walked passed the Prince Charles and saw Amy Winehouse surrounded by body guards having a smoke and paparazzi taking photos.

Bloody hell, a lot of you are in a bad mood tonight! I LOVE the Empire screen 1, its the best screen in town for me. But yeah I LOATHE the other Empire screens. The'ye basically toilets converted into cinemas. I'm sure of it. Becasue many years ago, there were only 2 other screens and the toilets used to be where the new screens are!

Very glad most of you enjoyed the film but sorry you guys seem to struggle to get a good screening of it. I am seeing this with friends on Friday and I just cant wait.

Yeah, I love the Empire Screen 1 too, but unfortunately, they put us in a screen in the basement. From what you say it is no wonder it is so bad!

God that screen sucks. I hadn't been in it for years, hope it's a long time before I need to go there again. I hate watching films with any obstruction whatsoever so when I got there and sat in the middle I was not happy. Why is the screen so bloody low. Thankfully I decided to move and managed to grab a couple of seats in the very back row which is slightly higher than the rest. So I had a completely clear, unobstructed view for the entire film (Sorry guys). If nothing else I will forever remember the wonderfully surreal moment when the subtitles appeared at the beginning and the entire ocean of heads in front of me rose as one. I wouldn't have found it so funny if I'd been sitting amongst them, believe me.

As for the film itself, I thought it was extraordinary. Gripping and intelligent, Christopher Nolan has managed to make a film that satisfies a desire to see a blockbuster movie with stunning effects and top notch action, without ever speaking down to an audience or assuming that just being big and loud is enough. Sure there were a few moments where you weren't quite sure where you were being taken but Nolan is such a skilled and confident filmmaker that you are happy to be taken along for the ride.
It also looks stunning and has some of the most beautiful individual shots I think I've seen in a big budget Hollywood movie.
The cast is top notch too, though Michael Caine fans may be disappointed that his role is just a small cameo. Pete Postlethwaite and Lukas Haas also have surprisingly brief roles. But Leonardo DiCaprio goes from strength to strength and there's good support from Ellen Page, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Cillian Murphy and Tom Hardy.
There's also an effective emotional weight to it as well, which was quite touching in it's final moments.
This is the kind of film it's best knowing as little as possible about before going in from its enigmatic and slightly confusing opening to it's teasingly ambiguous ending. Quite possibly the best and most satisfying film I've seen this year so far.

Oh and like Valda I think a trip to Vue Westfield and it's Vue Extreme screen is definitely in order. This is a film that's should be seen on the one of the best and biggest screens in London. Shame I saw it on one of the worst. Luckily the film is good enough that it didn't matter too much.
