Re: Movie Gossip and News
yeah but they're saying it's good that it reached such a high value and they might try to take over cineworld or odeon to make it the biggest UK cinema chain...

I don't think any of the major chains are that great, but in my experience Vue is probably the least of the evils so if the new owners did expand their empire (no pun intended), maybe they could keep some of Vue's good points and apply them to Cineworld or Odeon.

Re: Movie Gossip and News
Get ready for a movie version of the popular 80s puzzler, the Rubik's Cube.
Movie versions of 'Battleship', 'Monopoly' and 'Ouija' are heading our way over the next couple of years, and it now looks like the multi-coloured block of plastic is joining them on the big screen.
The powerful Creative Arts Agency (CAA) have snapped up the plastic toy as their client, and are pitching a movie version of the cube to various studios.
One of the suggestions revolves around people competing at a Rubik's Cube competition.
The agency's high profile talents include George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Joaquin Phoenix and Brad Pitt. Could any of these soon be trying to work out the brain teasing puzzle?
The 3D puzzle was invented in 1974 by Hungarian sculptor Erno Rubik. There have been over 350 million cubes sold worldwide.
(And here's one person who could never do it)

Re: Movie Gossip and News
Jack Black has joined the cast of the 'Greatest Muppet Movie Ever Made'.
The last few 'Muppet' movies have been disappointments, but it seems Hollywood is falling in love with Kermit and co all over again - with a host of big names lined up to star in the movie.
Jason Segel is the the main star of the film, but he will be joined by the likes of Paul Rudd, 'Machete's Danny Trejo, 'Hangover's Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis.
Lady Gaga will also make an appearance, as will 'Glee's' Jane Lynch - who will play a prison guard.
There is no word yet on who Black will play.

Re: Movie Gossip and News
One of Hollywood's most iconic films - 1939's 'The Wizard of Oz' - is reportedly getting the remake treatment.
Hollywood gossip site Deadline are claiming that Warner Bros are considering a new version of the much loved classic, and will base the movie on the original script rather than the source material - L Frank Baum's books.
The movie studio owns the screenplay after b*ying Ted Turner's empire - who himself had b*ght it along with the MGM library.
It's been reported that 'Back to the Future' director Robert Zemeckis has been in early talks with the studio. However, his publicist has claimed that "reports that Robert Zemeckis is doing The Wizard of Oz are absolutely false".
The 'Wizard of Oz' remake follows news that Disney are planning to make 'Oz: The Great and Powerful' - which will tell the origin of the Wizard of Oz. Sam Raimi is attached to the picture, with Robert Downey Jr rumoured to be playing the title character.
And if anyone tells me that it's in 3D, I'll scream!!!!!
