Re: GI Joe: Retaliation
if security at o2 are going to spoil the film everyone else by stoping and starting the film. they should have put mobiles in the security bags as they have done for screenings before. the guy was in the wrong using his mobile but stoping and starting the film is just plain wrong

I really don't want to check my phone for every single film I see!ISMADDER wrote:if security at o2 are going to spoil the film everyone else by stoping and starting the film. they should have put mobiles in the security bags as they have done for screenings before. the guy was in the wrong using his mobile but stoping and starting the film is just plain wrong

The fault lies with the guy who wouldn't turn his phone off, as irritating as the experience must have been for the other viewers, a message has now gone out and that's a good thing. Hopefully he'll be banned from the O2 and/or will learn his behaviour is unacceptable.

I'm sorry but this sentence doesn't make any sense to me when I read it. Security hired for a film will have a particular brief for that film hence why they do some things for a film yet won't for another. It is up to the client who is usually the film production company.ISMADDER wrote:All was saying was if the staff being that strict on certain films. on those films only security hand phones in

Re: GI Joe: Retaliation
Whether or not the brief is to get phones checked, I imagine it's always to stop people from using phones and/or other recording equipment! I think the staff were only doing their job here, and quite rightly, the blame must fall on the idiot who flouted the rules twice. Shame it doesn't even sound as if the film was worth the hassle!Yinster wrote:I'm sorry but this sentence doesn't make any sense to me when I read it. Re: GI Joe: Retaliation
I was also here the other night and thought that the commotion at the start was probably more entertaining than the film. Love The Rock, but he struggles in his serious scenes and can't be expected to save the film on his own. On the plus side, the 3D action scenes were excellent (I especially liked the mountain ninja scrap). But still it's a 4/10 for me.

Re: GI Joe: Retaliation
I know it can be an irritation but I am much happier when phones have to be handed in. There have been times when I have begged security to take phones off us as morons don't take a blind bit of notice of the "turn phones off" requests.

Re: GI Joe: Retaliation
We were where as well with the child on the balcony. So watched everything unfolding from upstairs... I can't comment on the film as the film being stopped twice I was struggling a bit to follow the plot, and also I never seen the first one (or may be it just had a weak plot
). My son was desperate to see it! so we went to O2 on a school night.... And this was another major reason I got very concerned when they stopped the film! They were wasting our time and making it too late for children who are supposed to be in school next day! And I saw quite a few older kids though I did notice that yet again! quite a few people brought 3 year olds with them and possibly even babies!? Why would you want to scare your own child? (because it's free?)
The film is UNACCEPTABLE for anyone below at least 9-10...
Anyway my son would probably ask me to b*y a dvd for him when it's out. He was majorly upset when the movie was stopped! twice! But he did see the film first and this time he was also taught a valuable lesson that using phone etc in the cinema is not acceptable, he never used it anyway, but before it was just my word against all the people who were using phones, ipos, ipads, etc around us in the local cinemas and in London on numerous occasions. But now O2 security proved me right
Just wish we didn't waste so much time on it on Tuesday night... we got home really late....

SMH is all I can say.I can't believe they killed Channing Tatum off in the first 20 minutes.
Though I will give him this: props for seeing out his storylines, he did the same in Step Up and I appreciate it.
