Re: The Box
I remember the twilight episode but I think this amateur short film is pretty impressive and might be even better than the hollywood movie! But I'll reserve judgement on that for myself as there are many many critically panned films that I love.
My film reviews here . ......My FMUK 2014 ratings.......My FMUK 2011 ratings.......My FMUK 2013 ratings . ......My FMUK 2012 ratings .

Re: The Box
I really enjoyed the first sixty/sixty-five minutes of 'The Box', during this time the film kept me intrigued and engaged with not only the moral/ethical issue relayed forth to James Marsden and Cameron Diaz, but also the aura of mystery surrounding Arlington Stewart (Langella) and to an extent, the box itself. However once the film hits the final third your given that much information and dissapointingly open-conclusions in a twenty-minute time-frame that the film comes off the rails and leaves you trying to, essentially, understand what has just happened instead of enjoying the final conclusion of the film. Which detracts heavily from film considering its main narrative drive is this moral/ethical issue of would you allow someone in the world, someone you did not know, to die to get one-million-dollars?
Re: The Box
JordanFRAV - how did you get to see the film before its release?
I hadn't heard anything about them running any preview screenings...

Well, at the very least that sketch was hysterical. Roll on Friday, getting no cinema pangs from the last week of nothingness.

Re: The Box
Yeah I am curiously interested in this film, no matter how bad/good the reviews are. It's a really neat concept.

Re: The Box
Did anybody see the review of The Box on Film 2009 with Jonathan Ross the other day?
It was a pretty crazy feature because the clips they used during the review actually gave most of the film's plot away!

Re: The Box
Yeah, I would avoid it like the plague "a_person" - I've never seen a TV review show where each clip reveals a major plot point (don't worry I won't mention which plot details!
) and it's especially bad when that film happens to be a thriller so the plot details are everything!
In some ways, it's a real shame that Film 2009 is the only major film review show on TV as far as I can see, and it's even more of a shame that Jonathan Ross is the presenter...
