Thanks for your continued encouragement as ever ejwrank and that watercress soup sounds delicious. Please can I have the recipe?

Andrews I too was horrified when I went on the scales but we can do it together. o/

I copied you asamaic and ended up heading off to bed at 9.30pm with a Cadbury's options and a good book to stop me eating.
Preston1990 wrote: Not a bad start, but the Wetherspoons steak and kidney pudding with chips and gravy I had for lunch could in no way be considered typical diet fayre. Very tasty and good value it was though and because I was driving afterwards I did not partake in any alcoholic beverages, so that would limit the damage. I'm bracing for another ticking off from Diane obviously though. ;)
Well, well, well Preston1990 I too went to Weatherspoons and even though your meal was tempting I was well behaved and chose the healthy option. I think we'll be needed the naughty step for someone if they don't behave themselves ;) :nono:

Menu of the day:
Super berry granola with semi skimmed milk (300 calories)
Ham salad wholemeal sandwich followed by a mango and passion fruit yoghurt (290 calories)
Weight watchers chicken hotpot (266 calories) (time factor hence microwave meal but better than a bar of chocolate)

Just noticed too few calories for the day so will have a healthy snack when I get home. Still on the water :D and still a bit hungry :noo: I will start adding exercise in at the weekend when hopefully I'm used to the lesser calorie intake - I must have been eating loads as normally get used to it after a few days. :shifty:

Menu of the day:
Raisin wheats with milk (300 calories)
2 falafel on a wholewheat pitta bread with peppers, tomatoes, cucumber and loads of lettuce. Salad on the pitta dressed with natural yoghurt and lemon juice and the extra salad dressed with balsamic vinegar (320 calories)
Weight watchers cheese and onion quiche with roasted peppers, garlic, onions and tomatoes with a olive oil, balsamic, lemon juice with a few herbs concoction (350 claories) Peach yoghurt (57 calories)
2 digestives (150 calories) - I really have an addiction to them.

Having a pampering evening tonight with a face mask, Jo Malone bath oil (a pressie) and a good book to read. All part of the feel good campaign. I haven't had so many early nights, baths, exfoliated and moisturised myself so much in ages - basically passing the evenings on and to stop me eating.

Hope everyone else is having a good day and keep posting.

cut out the biscuits and crisps (basically the stuff that makes you feel like you are getting fatter when you eat lol).

Allowing chocolate and cake for now.

weight just under 13 stone. obviously not horribly serious but its a major step up in weight for me. I have no plans to be a heavyweight judo wrestler just yet (or even a light-heavyweight one)

I've started to get to grips with the diet a little better today but I suspect that tomorrow's weigh-in will reveal that my first week will have been a bit of a write-off.

I had a lie in this morning so ended up skipping breakfast (not good I know), but had an early lunch of steamed broccoli, cauliflower and carrots with a few noodles and a splash of soy sauce.

I'm very impressed and enthused by all the sensible eating menus I'm reading on here, especially Dianes and Asamaics. Not to be outdone, I've rustled up a large pan of leek and potato soup which I will be eating tonight for my evening meal. If there's any left after OH and DD2 have had some (assuming that they'll even try it) I may freeze the remainder.

I've more soups planned for later this week to use up the glut of vegetables b*ght (but not used) for Christmas and New Year include Mushroom, Broccoli and Parsnip. There looks to be some great recipes on the BBC good food site.

If anyone's weigh day is tomorrow (Diane?) - Good Luck! :D

Glad you're in the zone Preston1990 and I love the healthy meals today obviously not the breakfast :nono:

I know I'm a bit late in posting but
Menu of the day:
Special K (300 calories)
Lunch as yeserday, falafel with a huge salad and pitta bread with a yoghurt dressing. I like recycling things so I used the tiny pot which the me of 2014 got with raspberry jam in it when I went for my free John Lewis coffee and cake (large scone) and just put natural yoghurt in it with a squeeze of lemon juice so I can take it to work and don't end up with soggy salad. It also saves loads of money as I b*y the Tesco basic range and you can do so many things with the yoghurt all for 45p for 500gm o/ plus a peach yoghurt (380 calories)
Tesco good for you tikka masala (360 calories)
2 digestives (150 calories) - I need to kick this daily habit as could have healthier food instead.

Not feeling as hungry now (thank goodness) and I don't feel like I have to go to bed so early. I think I will have exfoliated all my skin off with all these early baths and just pampering myself to stop me eating.

It is weigh in day tomorrow so hopefully I will have lost at least 2lbs :cross: Not exercised so I can't hope for anymore.

I'm jealous of raj101 being allowed cakes and chocolates.

Snap, Preston, I also made a double batch of leek and potato soup today-- always use Delia's recipe and it is a firm favourite in our house. I made one batch with the remainder of the turkey stock and another with vegetable stock for son who doesn't eat any meat.

Well done to all you stalwart Weight Watchers. I'll be crossing my fingers that you have all shed some pounds at the weigh ins.

We're 3 peas in a pod re not wasting food. Already have tomorrow's menu sorted o/

Menu of the day:
Granola with almond milk (300 calories and yes I'm still a saddo weighing and working it out so that I have at least 300 calorie breakfast as I like a good start to my day)
Tandoori chicken (chicken breast chopped and then marinated with natural yoghurt, tandoori powder, lemon juice and garlic and then steamed in tin foil for 25 minutes) with salad, raita (yoghurt again with diced cucumber and I used a small teaspoon of Coleman's mint sauce - don't get the cheaper sauces as too runny(my little jam pot is coming in handy to take to work), pitta bread followed by natural yoghurt (yet again - this is still the same pot that I have been using to mix with lemon juice as a dressing plus still have some left and another 2 portions of raita) with fresh blueberries (400 calories)
Omelette with onions, chestnut mushrooms and ham with a dash of Worcester sauce (270 calories)

Raita recipe is courtesy of my good friend Solace - One inspirational gentleman o/

Woohoo o/ Well done Diane - that's fantastic and so well deserved. You are one determined lady and all the hard work and dedication of the last week are now starting to p*y off for you. You'll be back to your goal weight in no time at all at this rate.

It was weigh-day for me as well today........ but ......err unfortunately, unlike Diane, I cannot report a 2 lbs weight loss...for me it's only 1lb. ...........And, what's even more annoying, ............it's a gain rather than a loss :tears: 8O

The thing is I so deserve this. :wall:
I must stop gorging myself on all sorts of inappropriate stuff during the evening. Last night after the healthy Leek and potato soup, I was tidying stuff away into the kitchen cupboards. I spotted the Morrison's whole chocolate fudge gateaux which rather annoyingly a "friend" had brought to our house over Xmas as "they didn't want it because they were on a diet". I was seduced by its glistening chocolateliness, and succumbed to a slice - and shortly after another one. 8O

There are still 4 slices left, and it would seem that I'm the only one in the house who is tempted by it. There is no doubt in my mind that it will be me who ultimately eats all of these - it's really just a question of when!

Great to hear about your soup making exploits EJ. There is something so satisfying about making soup, isn't there? Whenever I do roast chicken, I always make stock from the carcass and freeze it for soup making. It works even better now our vegetarian daughter is away at uni. I still have some of my leek and potato soup left. It was very nice, but I'm going to freeze what's left and make a new batch of mushroom soup today to use up the massive box of mushrooms whilst they are still ok to use.

Don't worry, I'll be getting a grip, giving myself a stiff talking to and redoubling my efforts for the coming week. Hopefully I'll be able to share better news next Thursday. :cross:

NO MORE CAKE FOR ME - even if that means throwing what's left away!!! :nono:

Or feel free to pop round if you are passing this way Raj101 :D

Well done Diane with that 2 lbs weight loss -- you are on your way now!

I'm going say that considering what Preston ate last week (and with that long journey for uni drop off), I consider only a 1 lb weight gain to be a bit of a success actually. What I don't understand is why no one else in your house will eat that cake for you??? I am quite lucky in that respect as there is never any chocolate log/chocolate cake left hanging around long here. Mind you I do consume plenty of other high calorie things but chocolate cake is not amongst them.

I recently hurt my leg and for about a week in December I couldn't get down the stairs to the kitchen so had no late night snacking opportunities. I was dependent on what others brought up to me and that meant I ate a lot fewer high calorie foods. A bit drastic I know but it showed me that I can use a bit of willpower and not succumb to evening snacks and left over Xmas goodies -- or that's the theory at least!
