Preston -- Pringles are really not good for you -- if you have to indulge in crisps just eat a decent brand without all the MSG, etc. Do that as your New Year's resolution -- please -- as a favour to me.

"Pringles have about 42% potato content, the remainder being wheat starch and flours (potato, corn, and rice) combined with vegetable oils, an emulsifier, salt, and seasoning.[19] Other ingredients can include sweeteners like maltodextrin and dextrose, monosodium glutamate (MSG), disodium inosinate, disodium guanylate, sodium caseinate, modified food starch, monoglyceride and diglyceride, autolyzed yeast extract, natural and artificial flavors, malted barley flour, wheat bran, dried black beans, sour cream, cheddar cheese, etc.; Pringles varieties vary in their ingredients."

I love Pringles.

I can't b*y them though because I will smash my way through a whole tube and that's no good for anyone. If I know I have no self-control over a type of food, I just don't let it in my flat!

Well, Santa brought me a FitBit Charge HR and I love it. o/ I have been back on the wagon since Boxing Day (proper Boxing Day, not the substitute hol) and I think I might stay on it for once...

One of the things that I like most about the Charge is that it constantly recalculates my calorie need for right now, i.e. it helps me to not only stay within my allowance for the day, but to spread out what I'm eating so I don't get sudden drops in energy.

b*ght a pair of trail shoes today, so I can go running on mud. o/

Hoping to do a NYD parkrun - anyone else doing one? http://www.parkrun.org.uk/christmas-compendium/

Wasabi Pringles were my fav! M&S used to do wasabi & soy flavour crisps too, but I think they've been discontinued:(. Blue Almond did Wasabi and Soy Almonds, not sure if they still do.

I Love Wasabi! Occasionally I add sashimi or sushi to it 8-).

Well, it's day 2 of 2016 - is everyone being good or are you still in Christmas mode?

I started the New Year with a parkrun. Amazingly, I managed to run the whole 5K without stopping even though my only preparation had been a one-mile run a few days before. I think I'd like to do more parkrunning in 2016 - maybe one a month? I know I can't do weekly, whilst my ankle held up, it did twinge a bit towards the end and I know I'n going to have to do more of my physio exercises to help strengthen it. Monthly seems more realistic.

Anyone else got any healthy resolutions they're willing to put down in writing?

And....... I'm back!
Have started my 2016 with a drastic drop in the old alcohol intake and have reduced my calories... cut down on portion size. Exercise is still tricky as the foot has not improved and the weather has been so bad that I haven't been out much.

I start a pain management course in Feb which includes some exercise so will be looking at their suggestions from them.

So, waving hello to all, again[URL=http://www.sherv.net/]Image

Welcome back Baty, and asamaic !!

Well done on that 5k parkrun asamaic. o/ You must be really pleased with that, and the beneficial effect that the physio exercises are having on your ankle. Take it slow though and don't go overdoing it until the full strength is built back up.
asamaic wrote:Well, it's day 2 of 2016 - is everyone being good or are you still in Christmas mode?
Today is a bit of a transition for me! o/

The transition between the "Old Preston", who had recently picked up some bad habits, and the "New Preston", who will be more mindful of food and lifestyle choices and even more determined in 2016 to get down to my target BMI of 25. Yes I know that the BMI system has its limitations and its share of detractors, but I still see it as a pretty sound basic indication of what needs to be done.
asamaic wrote:Anyone else got any healthy resolutions they're willing to put down in writing?

So........ with that in mind......

Resolutions:

1. Today is the last day that I will be b*ying ridiculously reduced Christmas confectionery from Waitrose (or anywhere else for that matter). From now on, if it's food but not healthy, then on the shelf it stays - no matter how cheap it is.

2. At least one early morning spinning class every day (except Sun - not because I'm religious or anything but because they don't run them then). Obsessive? Yes, probably!!

3. At least one session of Pilates, Yoga, Body Balance, Aquafit, Kettlebells (now that's a tough class) and Swimming every week.

4. Stop beating myself up about stopping Zumba. Not everyone can be good at everything - Forget about, it Move On!

5. Eat More salads and vegetables.

6. Drink lots of water.

7. From now on 2016 will be a Pringle free year for me. That ones for you EJ

Sorry to hear you're still suffering, baty - these injuries take ages to recover from, don't they? The course in February sounds good, hope that makes a difference.

Thought about Dry January, but I'm not a massive drinker anyway, and it's cheating to promise to cut down on something in which you don't really indulge much.

I have one tube of Pringles left in the flat (really for guests rather than me!) but when the Pringles are over, I too promise not to b*y any more. When it comes to stuff I b*y in specially for guests, I'll b*y things they like and I don't especially care for, to reduce the odds of me raiding the visitors' cupboard.

A really impressive list of resolutions from Preston - here's to a healthy and happy 2016 for all WWers (and our ever faithful cheerleaders)!
