Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special - tickets available for 21 December

Grab your scorecards and dust off your dancing shoes, Strictly Come Dancing is back for a one off Christmas Special!

Packed full of glitz, glamour, show-stopping moves and more sequins than ever before, this fabulous show is putting the sparkle back into Christmas on BBC One.

The legendary Bruce Forsyth and his glamorous co-host Tess Daly will once again host this BBC One extravaganza to be broadcast on Christmas Day.

Due to the popularity of this show, we are operating a random draw.

If you have been one of the lucky ones who visited Television Centre or the Tower Ballroom, Blackpool during the 2009 series, then you aren't eligible to apply for tickets for this Christmas Special.

You can apply at any time until Tuesday 8 December at 10pm.

No applications will be accepted after this date and time.

You can apply for a maximum of two tickets per household.

Please note that entering the random draw does not guarantee tickets and you will only be notified of your successful application on receipt of your tickets.

Please note that the dresscode is glamorous. Strictly no jeans.

"Strictly Come Dancing's dance-off has been axed, giving the public vote greater weight than the judge's scores for Saturday's semi-final.

Previously the two couples with the lowest combined score faced the judges again for a head-to-head decider, with the losing pair booted off the BBC1 dance show.

However, this weekend the couple with the lowest combined score will leave the competition immediately and, in the case of a tie, the public vote takes precedence."

The public called the shots in every show on Dancing with the Stars in the USA, Anne. There was no dance off - the comperes announced who were being saved, down to the last two, then curtains for one couple!

How many of us are watching this year's Strictly Come Dancing? I've not been too impressed so far, but am pleased that there are some new professional dancers in the mix to add extra interest.
Anne Widdecombe has to go next, surely?

News from the BBC today -

Former Coronation Street actress Tina O'Brien will sit out this Saturday's Strictly Come Dancing after being diagnosed with chicken pox.

O'Brien, 27, and her professional dance partner Jared Murillo will be given a bye through to the following week's edition of the BBC One show.

The other couples will dance as usual with one pair leaving the contest.

But the show's rules state that if O'Brien is unable to dance for a second week she will have to leave.

DJ and music producer Goldie and dance partner Kristina Rihanoff became the first couple to be eliminated from this year's show.

Oh, he was dreadful.

I've not watched much this year. To be honest, Alesha saying 'you was good etc' gets on my nerves a bit and I don't think she's as qualified as Arlene to comment. Also, like The Apprentice, the quality seems to be slipping :). Plus I still think Rachel was robbed, so I've still got the hump over that :p!

I didn't see Goldie, but surprised he was worse than Paul or Ann.

I've only just noticed this topic o/

I'm quite enjoying it at the moment, I've got 4 couples who should be at the top.

I reckon it will be between Scott and Matt Baker with Tara maybe in the running. Who would have thought Phil from The Bill could dance like that? Matt's very good, but he's I dunno, a bit sort of smarmy for me. Tara is lovely and I remember Artem her partner from So You Think You Can dance USA.

An honourable mention to Pamela Stephenson as well.

Just playing catch up - the story of my life at the moment. This is the first time I've seen the celebrities - some of them have a long way to go before they become dancers. I can't dance for tuppence, so I can't be too critical, can I? But I actually know, or at least, have heard of most of them, which is a bonus! o/

Edwina Curry reminded me of Edith from 'Ello 'Ello! As if I needed anything else to laugh about

For some reason I can see Jason Donavan being a bit competitive, Robbie Savage and Harry McFly surprised me a lot.
