Hi guys I'm coming I'm coming...dont punch/slap me please, I'm sorry, I know I've been so quiet for a long time....what do you mean that's a good thing?? hmphh!

OK, so I might like to stay overnight somewhere and come back next day so I dont be in a rush.

Are you guys sorting yourselves out individually or going as a group, if group, my hand is up? Though, if I am staying overnight then I might not be able join same day return groups which is no prob.
My film reviews here . ......My FMUK 2014 ratings.......My FMUK 2011 ratings.......My FMUK 2013 ratings . ......My FMUK 2012 ratings .

Do you have a VR headset? If so, maybe we can play a physical sports game or even be sports/fitness partners, hit me up if you keen.

Welcome, MrGlass!
It looks like only a handful coming from London. Not sure what the other Londoners are doing, I am staying overnight on Friday, and it looks like RickyRaj is just going for the day.

What Manchester train station should I be booking for?
Manchester Piccadilly to get the cheapest fare as its an extra £1.50 each way to Deansgate but if anyone is coming from across the country or up North if you get a ticket to Manchester stations rather than just Piccadilly you have free use of the metro in the city centre but for everyone else we have a free bus service throughout the city centre up until 7pm https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j ... 7178,d.ZGU so if you want to have a free bus tour of the city just pop on and off and visit a few sites (it is free for everyone not just people with a train ticket so make the most of it). Our meet up venue is near to Deansgate station - I'll ask Yogi if he can upload a map for us all as I'm still dire at IT.

Just been looking at the map and I didn't even know that we had this https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j ... 7178,d.ZGU so if we have any football fans it may be worth a look and it's free. I'll keep posting anything I find that might be of interest for the tourists plus us Mancunians. It was a different museum before I don't mean that I haven't noticed such a huge building
Just checked the free travel on the Metro:
http://www.metrolink.co.uk/contactus/Pages/Tickets.aspx
It seems you need to show an extension on your train ticket:
I have b*ght a train ticket that states Manchester Stations as the destination. Can I use this on the Metrolink in the city centre?
The ticket must state the destination as Metrolink CTLZ. Ask when purchasing your rail ticket for a Metrolink add-on stating your destination. This costs no more, but allows you to travel between Deansgate-Castlefield, Piccadilly and Victoria on Metrolink.

Can I b*y a combined rail and Metrolink ticket?
Yes, travelling from anywhere in the country you can p*rchase a combined ticket to any Metrolink stop. Ask for this when purchasing your rail ticket.
I am not sure how I can get that from redspottedhanky? I wonder if they will give you an option to add extras at the booking stage?
May have to call them to find out!
;)

Just wait for the cheaper trains to be released as they will be 25 pound return - I will let you know when to book (sorry bossy mode kicking in yet again  ) it will be any day now but if there are more than 3 people travelling together do group booking as reduces it to 20 pound (sorry no pound signs on work pc  )

Yes, train fares are extremely expensive to Manchester (why? :giggle: and accommodation too! why? Seems London do not have the monopoly of being expensive!), so can't wait for the cheaper deals to kick in!

I will be happy to hook up with anyone to get a discount, but my travel plans are to go up on Friday, returning Saturday night, as no cheap hotel deals on Saturday night, unfortunately, but if anyone has found any, please let me know before I book my train ticket, as I wanted to make a weekend of it.
