Hi Everyone
It's time to get organising next year's FMUKCON in Manchester, so that more people can have the chance of meeting up. I have pm'd a few people already getting ideas re dates etc and the dates we have in mind are 29th March or 5th April depending on which date is most popular. Once again it is an open invite to everyone and the more the merrier. Please can everyone let us know which date is the most popular? We will leave this open until the end of September then decide on the most popular date.
Then we can arrange a venue depending on numbers etc. A lot of us Mancunians will be available throughout the whole day so if you want a sight seeing tour as well as the meet up or anything else incorporated into the day or even just come from the meet up and do your own thing anything goes. We will sort the rest out when we have a date.
* The date is now set for the 5th April.
Please can people vote to give us an idea of how many are coming so we can choose the best venue/get the best deal for us all
The venue is confirmed as Missoula, Deansgate Locks between 12 and 3. People arriving at Piccadilly station will be coming from the right hand side of this map. It's about a 20 minute walk.

I have selected either date, it is so far away so will have plenty of time to book cheap train tickets and a hotel.
I have been only once to Manchester and that was to watch QPR play, so am looking forward to this.

I voted for April 5th as I may have something in March *not sure yet) but April is still wide open. Also, better weather! (hopefully)

We can guarantee a lot of things, hospitality, sight seeing, a friendly welcome etc but our 'better' weather is usually drizzle rather than rainstorms!

Well, being from Wales
damp is always an option

Looking forward to going north. Once the date is set will be researching the usual suspects - travelodge, premier inn etc. Hopefully will make a weekend of it.

I've voted for either date but thought some folk may be influenced by the fact that 30th March is Mother's Day. Also, the clocks go back. These may affect anyone who was hoping to stay overnight or for the weekend.
Given I'm from further north, the weather may well seem tropical when we come South!

Don't forget Ramada have released £20 rooms in October for the last 2 years. Over the next few weeks I'll have a look at them all to see for ease of parking and getting around and will compile a list for you and anyone else who is going to make a weekend of it.
Good point McG re Mothers Day and the April one would be light nights.
