Brilliant, brilliant and even more brilliant!
A resounding 9.5/10 and that's only because it made me jump when I didn't want to!

Re: Inception
Well thanks everybody for NOT keeping any seats. Marvellous. Couldn't find 4 together when we arrived at shortly past 6pm so ended up in fourth row from the back and put my friends in front of us. We did have one empty seat next to us (and another at the other end of us with bags on), so when prettyxcool texted that a_person needed a seat I was happy to keep her the empty one. Unfortunately she rocked up with a friend so she couldn't use that space. I did ask the people next to us whether the seat with bags on was taken and was told yes it was. When a_person sent me a narked off text from the front rows, I enquired again. Yes, definitely taken. Only that once the film had started they took the bags off after a while and it was suddenly available! It is really amazing how selfish some people are. If you happen to be on FMUK, I'd like you to explain yourself!Beate wrote:I'm going to rock up with 3 others tonight at Empire Leicester Square so could anyone keep us seats at the back please if we are late? Not near Ms Fidget please.Thanks.
Also, what on earth possessed the Empire to allocate dingy screen 2 in the basement to this! The room has no incline whatsoever, and my friend's head was practically swivelling from side to side non-stop, trying to see! The first two lines of the film are actually spoken in a foreign language and the subtitles were so low on the screen that everyone had to crane their necks to see - it was so surreal that people started laughing just because of that!
The film was entertaining enough but went right over my head. I was thinking "ok, so now they are inside a dream inside a dream inside a dream inside a dream, right, and while they are simultaneously in an office block, on a ski slope, trying to get rid of dead wives and crashing a van into water, they are actually still on the bloody plane? Utterly bizarre. Loved Leonardo di Caprio though, he did a damn good job. Shed a tear when he told his wife he had to let her go now.
7/10
Re: Inception
Saw this in Sutton tonight. Was concerned with the length of the film as I have a short attention span! However, I was completely 'sucked' into the film. Loved the concept and the acting...brilliant! How refreshing to have a female lead that is relatively normal and doesn't ooze the obligatory Hollywood sex appeal - Ellen Page i
was genius casting.
The score was very dramatic and evocative...reminded me of the score from The Cell, the only film to have JLo act pretty darn well.
9/10.

Kind of wishing I was going to Wimbledon after all, I'm not a big fan of the Empire's smaller screens. As of now only 60 people have booked to see Avatar, a film that's been out for 7 months. That's 60 people in a 1330 seat cinema. What a waste.
Of course I'm hoping the website is completely wrong.
Thank you for answering my question, KevinKnapman!
What a crappy screen that was! I wish I'd gone to Wimbledon now. The bottom part of the screen was blocked by the people in the front part of the cinema and yeah it was hilarious when the subtitlles came on and everyone sat up trying to see, also when the 'totem thing' was done, you couldn't see it.
As for the film, totally amazining, amazing cast, director effects, score, everyting was fab. I'm even going to treat myself to Vue westfield Extreme and see it how it should be shown, or even at the Imax 10/10

Re: Inception
You missed out all the fun Beate! We were near the very front of the queue and as we went in the usher was going crazy ordering everyone to sit right at the front with nobody listening because no one wanted to break their necks staring upwards!!!
He unsuccessful instructions then lead to threats that the manager will move everyone anyway so do what you want. Was a little over the top!
I also found the subtitles difficult to read due to the way the seats were arranged

Re: Inception
Well my son and I both came out and said that parts of it would have been brilliant in 3d. Hubby had to miss this because of work so we have decided to actually "p*y" for a film and plan to head over to the Imax to see this again. The very mention of p*ying for a film is giving me heart palpitations!
