Preference of cinemas:- 1. Glasgow Renfield Street Cineworld, 2. Glasgow Showcase, 3. Braehead Odeon, 4. Vue Fort, 5 Glasgow Springfield Quay, 5. any other cinema in Glasgow area including Hamilton
Also Falkirk, Dunfermline and Stirling but these are rarely used for free previews.

So how was the meteor show guys? There will be another opportunity tonight too.

I can never see these special astronomical events from London but nevertheless I never fail to miss an episode of Sky at Night and keep up to date with what's new in the BBC astonomy web site. I have discovered though from the recent sky at night episode that there is a London club called the Baker Street astronomers, and gather at Regents Park for observations. Even though London is so light polluted you can still observe the cosmos with telescopes by using filters. That, I didnt realise, so I might just b*y myself a telescope and have a go :) I long very much to observe the gas giants and nebuklas. Not good for the meteor showers though, that has to be seen with the naked eye.
My film reviews here . ......My FMUK 2014 ratings.......My FMUK 2011 ratings.......My FMUK 2013 ratings . ......My FMUK 2012 ratings .

Do you have a VR headset? If so, maybe we can play a physical sports game or even be sports/fitness partners, hit me up if you keen.

The clouds hung about and are still here this morning :( but thats good news about another opportunity. I'd visited the observatory last night and it reignited my love of all things spacey when we held meteorites and listened to a talk about the planets. We had a telescope kicking around the house so i set it up and on the next clear night i'll be using it :star:

Cool :) I have this awesome application on my phone called Google Sky Map on my android phones (Desire and Galaxy). You point the phone anywhere in the sky and shows you exactly what you are looking at (like a window) but with labels of the stars, planets and constellations. If you need to find a planet or star, you simply move the phone around the sky and an arrow will point to where you should move you phone to until it homes in to it. I've used it so many times just so I can know what is behind that damn jet black London Sky!

If you have an android driven phone, you can download this app for free from the Android Market :)

that app sounds really useful, i'll try to download it. I was out there for around an hour and i saw two white lights but they didn't look like they were moving fast enough for meteors. Part of the problem was i didn't know where to look as i only know the plough and pole star well enough and there were a few constellations that looked like the Lyrid and they were nowhere near each other.

Very cricked neck now
