Re: The Smurfs
does each person get a world record certificate for taking part? I suppose it is an interesting thing to say about yourself although not so sure you'd put it on your CV

I saw a teaser trailer at the cinema the other day. You have to be kidding me.
Go ahead, make my day - by visiting my blog: http://jacobthehobnob.wordpress.com/
Member number 33 of the "100 free films in 2012" club. I saw 32, which is rather delightful.. I beat Mr. Glass on free films but he narrowly inched me out on total films seen.
Member number 33 of the "100 free films in 2011" club. I saw 20, interestingly enough. My more realistic target was to see more free films than TheyCallMeMrGlass. I lost.

Re: The Smurfs
While the CGI looks quite terrible I have to say I am looking forward to see this movie if only to see Neil Patrick Harris not wear a suit for a change

This trailer did actually make me laugh! I'm quite looking forward to seeing it now.
This is the type of film where hopefully the 3D will be put to good use.

Looks like a strong contender for 'Worst movie ever'!
No doubt it'll get at least 1 sequel

Re: The Smurfs
FYI
The Smurfs (French: Les Schtroumpfs) is a comic and television franchise centered on a group of small blue fictional creatures called Smurfs, created and first introduced as a series of comic strips by the Belgian cartoonist Peyo (pen name of Pierre Culliford) on October 23, 1958. The original term and the accompanying language came during a meal Peyo was having with his colleague and friend André Franquin in which, having momentarily forgotten the word "salt", Peyo asked him (in French) to pass the schtroumpf. Franquin replied: "Here's the Schtroumpf — when you are done schtroumpfing, schtroumpf it back" and the two spent the rest of that weekend speaking in schtroumpf language.[3] The name was later translated into Dutch as Smurf, which was adopted in English.
