Just watching Rock Choir! I really want to join it looks flipping ace! I constantly bombard my poor neighbours with my loud lung stretches (otherwise known as trying to sing)
anyone else here prone to a bit of a sing song? anyone go to choir, a rock one or otherwise?

Re: Singing!
The Choir, Unsung Town (Gareth Malone) was filmed very near to me, I didn't sign up because of work, but lots of my friends did, most with no singing experience, most just for the novelty factor to begin with and they all had a blast.
It's about 2 years since the camera's stopped rolling but the choir is still going strong and performing at the Palace Theatre tonight. So much has come to the local area through it too...... only thing I didn't like was the way they portrayed the town, it is a much better place to live than they made out at time!

Preferred Cinema's now Paignton or Exeter!

Re: Singing!
I go to a community choir and it's the favourite thing that I do (apart from seeing films of course!)
We mostly sing old Motown songs, with a few poppy numbers and some soul tunes. I love the fact that the choir membership is really fluid, with different faces each week depending on who is able to make it, and you never get told off if you miss a session. I've found it difficult to attend as often as I would like to in recent months, but I'm always welcomed back warmly.
It's the only way that I've made new friends in London apart from work, and meeting friends of other friends. I love the fact that there are people from all backgrounds, different ages, who do all kinds of interesting things.
We're on our summer break at the moment (becase the building is closed for the school holidays), but we enjoy meeting up so much that a bunch of choirmates all went for a pizza last night, with a little bit of merry singing on the walk home!
I fully recommend it. Go sing!
