Gentle Reminder

We've got lots of new members on FMUK o/ and I'd just like to ask everyone to reread the rules re swapping tickets that can be found here

http://www.fmuk.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=147

In Particular

FMUK's policy on acquiring tickets for donation to others:
Please do not claim tickets from SFF or similar services unless there is a high chance of the tickets being used.

That is, if the tickets have been requested in the wanted forum, please do get them. But if they haven't, only get tickets in the event that they are in a very popular location (London for example) or if a frequent poster (see other sticky) would want the tickets but is not online when the first code surfaces.

Please do not claim tickets for every location. While we encourage loyalty to FMUK (yay!), it is unclear how well SFF's returns system works, and we must do whatever we can to help SFF reduce the number of empty seats at a screening.

I would suggest not even grabbing everything in sight....like getting tickets for Julie and Julia and Away We go, when you know it clashes. I know some people grab both anyway and then just decide on the day.
There's really no point grabbing tickets unless you are keen on going. I would be surprised this Sunday morning if the screening of a foreign film on a wet Sun morning would entice many people out of bed.. I am guessing there won't be any screenings more than 50% full this Sun..

Can I also say that I have noticed a lot of newbies requesting tickets with their first post. We are a site that provides people with access to codes and the opportunity to get tickets for free but we should not just hand our own tickets out without questioning to strangers. Go with your gut instinct. We love participation, we couldn't survive without it. Hence please do take the time to read the forum rules and introduce yourselves and participate on all boards, not just the Wanted board, otherwise you are just abusing the kindness of long-term members. The more you are known around here, the more likely you should receive tickets.
I will disapprove all first posts that request tickets from now on.

Also, there are some repeat offenders here that ask for tickets in just about any location giving excuses about why they can do them all - please be careful, we don't want our tickets to end up on ebay. Everyone can check other member's posts to see what else they have requested.

Thank you.
