Personal Film Blog
I wasn't sure where to put this, so I'm dumping it here for now. After much consideration, I've finally decided to try to put together my own film blog. Odds are I'll get frustrated or lazy with it, but I'm gonna give it a go anyway. It may well suck, but who knows? Anyway, I've thrown some stuff together tonight and wanted some feedback regarding how it looks. Is it appealing to the eye? Too busy? Easy or difficult to read? Things like that. I'm a bit annoyed by the limitations of my wordpress account in terms of customisation over the various themes available but I'm relatively happy with where it's at right now. Still, I need some objective points of view if anyone is willing.

Re: Personal Film Blog
I find the busy background distracting to be honest. It makes it difficult to read for me. But well done for starting your own film blog! We've got quite some talented people on this board.
Re: Personal Film Blog
Well done soonforgotten, good for you!
I must admit, I agree with Beate about the busy background. Whilst those reels look good, the colour is a little distracting when trying to read the writing.

Re: Personal Film Blog
Thanks for the input, everyone. I'll make it a point to tweek or altogether redo that background tonight. The set-up is the part I was truly dreading about this, but hopefully I can get some actual content on there soon and focus on the fun aspects of this.

Yep different background would be easier but good luck and I look forward to reading it.

It has all the makings of a great blog but must agree with others that the background is distracting because the words don't stand out clearly enough (particularly when scrolling).
Changing the background will certainly help (particularly if its a plain backdrop) but you may want to think about a large font size or the use of Bold to really make the wording stand out.
The picture of the pirate is a particularly nice touch.
Good Luck

Re: Personal Film Blog
Unfortunately, I have to p*y more if I want to be able to change the font type and size. I would have done that if it wasn't going to cost an additional $30. It just seems silly to me.Knight N wrote:Soonforgotten:

Re: Personal Film Blog
I've made some tweeks. It occured to me that I can just change the font size for each post. I just have to remember to do that whenever I post.
It may still be a bit too busy, but it's a lot easier to read now so I think I'll focus on getting some content on there.
I really appreciate the feedback.
