Wonder if the 3D effect will 'add' anything to the film.
Not seen the original myself purely based on principle
but may actually pop over and watch the 3D version with Mrs Flabber. (she's quite a fan of the orinigal)...

I saw some 3D footage at Empire Big Screen and the 3D looked quite impressive in the final act when the ship sinks, but is unlikely to add anything for at least half of the film.
Apparently James Cameron personally converted this into 3D frame by frame and spent a whole year working on it. But I still think it is a pointless re-release.
