Help, name for an e-magazine?

#1 Post by evilzadi » Wed May 02, 2012 8:00 pm

Hey guys,
I'm part of group that is creating a new e-magazine for students studying Maths and Computer Sciences at the Univeristy of Greenwich.

Before we start anything, we have to finalise on a name. (Have to decided on it by Friday.)
That's where you guys come in ;) . Please vote for which name you think is a good choice.

Pick your favourite and please say why you like it.
Also what words would you associate with any of these names?

Thanks!! o/

I found it difficult to choose as I don't think any of them really capture the idea of Maths & Computing students. I can see you were also trying to include the history of Greenwich. In the end I chose The Integral as it was the most mathematical sounding and its meaning being entire/complete/whole, it seems appropriate. :star:
Preferred cinemas: Best: Glasgow Quay, Glasgow Braehead, Glasgow Renfield Street, Glasgow Fort & Paisley
Others I'd go to: Glasgow Showcase Baillieston

Films already booked for:

I am going to be completely unhelpful and say I don't like any of the names but I have no better suggestion either.

Who suggested these choices for names? Whilst I agree that it is nice that the name is trying to involve Greenwich, they do not involve maths nor computer sciences

Preference of cinemas:- 1. Glasgow Renfield Street Cineworld, 2. Glasgow Showcase, 3. Braehead Odeon, 4. Vue Fort, 5 Glasgow Springfield Quay, 5. any other cinema in Glasgow area including Hamilton
Also Falkirk, Dunfermline and Stirling but these are rarely used for free previews.

How about the Greenwich Mean Times?

Gives you a bit of local colour and a bit of maths and science. Hope you don't think too silly!

I have another suggestion

∞-1

which does make sense to mathematicians. Its "Infinity minus one".
