Rock of Ages

#1 Post by superhero » Wed Sep 21, 2011 10:48 pm

After watching the musical, I thought Tom Cruise would be playing Dennis Dupre, isn't he abit too old to play Stacee Jaxx?
And can he sing? and I don't imagine he would get on with Russell Brand...

Lol... I can't imagine Tom Cruise being Stacee Jaxx either. I think they should find another actor.

I should've started this discussion thread :shifty:

Stacee seems to be a completely different type of character in the movie, more old rocker no longer "it" rather than the new big thing (this is what Tom will look like: http://perezhilton.com/2011-06-18-tom-c ... first-look)

I am also not pleased with Russell Brand as Lonny. I think this actor named Simon Lipkin would be really great in the part.

Isn't the film meant to follow the musical? or is it radically different?

It's Hollywood, need I say more?

I really haven't a clue but I doubt they'll follow the musical. They attracted big name stars for characters either not in the musical or part of the ensemble which makes it seem like they're doing different things with the story/characters.

I can't remember doesn't Russell Brand not sing very well in Get Him to the Greek or Hop?

Isn't he just a singer anyway? Not saying he's good as I haven't a clue...

I can actually see him more as Stacee Jaxx than Tom Cruise.

I think Russell Brand can be a great Lonny if he sticks to Lonny's character and doesn't put too much of his usual Brand's cr*p
