gig tickets.........

#1 Post by rainey_y2k » Tue Sep 08, 2009 4:14 pm

hey everyone! i'm fairly new to this site and must say its great!

been reading a few of the threads and it seems alot of people are interested in concerts and music too.

i was thinking, maybe we could start a new thread that was for getting gig tickets as, if anyone is in the same boat as me, find it really frustrating that when bands release tickets for their gigs- they're sold out within ten minutes and an hour later they are on ebay with the prices increased ten fold!!!!

i was thinking maybe it would be a good idea if we chatted about upcoming gigs and we could maybe arrange to try and get tickets and if we end up with too many we could sell them on at no more tan face value to genuine people who really want to see there favourite bands, with out having to fork out ridiculous amounts of money!

just wondered if we had scope for this on the forum

cheers in advance for your views

The only problem is that gig tickets cost a lot of money. And my experience tells me that you end up losing money if you try to sell the tickets later on ebay.

Mhm. I am not sure this is the place to talk about b*ying and selling gig tickets to be honest. This site is primarily for free films. I have absolutely nothing against posting SFF codes for concerts or plays if and when they turn up, but same as with the films, they have to exchange hands for free.

I agree too! Especially where payment is involved, it may end up causing fights.... There's no scope of monitoring people who might abuse such a system (as there is on eBay), for example non payers. I can't really see AYBG or Beate spending time sorting out fights for people p*ying, not p*ying, not receiving tickets etc. It is a great idea though but like Beate said, I don't think this is the place to be. And I do agree, it's really unfair that people b*y tickets and then sell them for loads on eBay especially when they are genuine fans.

i agree, just thought i'd voice my opinion and see what people thought, i just thought there may be a few people out there who may benefit from this type of thing but everyone is right, it seems its the typical ''the minority would spoil it for the majority'' and if we did try this type of thing people would take advantage of it

its just i was in ireland this weekend and me and my girlfriend got talking to another couple, who had the same gripe! just thought i'd see if any one was up for it as i was reading the free oncerts thread

just to let you guy know tho, i go to quite a few gigs and if there's ever a situation where i cant go, i'll post up my tickets up here for no more than face value!

gonna try and get my stereophonics tickets this moring! wish me luck!

oh and thanx for your opinions! o/
