Angels and Demons launch party - an amazing night!!! -

#1 Post by anteena1 » Tue Sep 15, 2009 2:19 am

after getting there dead on 8.30pm my mum and I went in through the restaurant rather than the front of the soho hotel as we were lost :wall:

We made our way past the cameraman who said he was filming yet and went into the bar where ber, wine and soft drinks were laid on. After a while they came around with olives and veg crisps and nuts (the nibbles part) at about 9.30 we were ushered into the 2nd screening room (caters fro 45 people i think) where each sofa or armchair was red leather or cow hide. There was a goody bag on each seat filled with lovely goodies - 2 disc blueray dvd da vinci code and demons and angels, the book, movie companion and a large hard notebook. We watched film which we hadnt seen before and at 11.45pm we were invited to stay for food and drinks and a big surprise.

I found myself giving an interview on camera about the night (apprently going on the net and too sky and total film etc) at this point i must have looked terrible as the lights were making me perspire/sweat like a pig :tears:
so i will probably look terrible,

after the small plates of scattered food - calamari, hummous, chorizo, rolls - all gone by the time i got back to my seat

i waited with baited breath for tom, ewan or dan.
after the vatican guards asked for our attention we were told that the waiting was over to please make our way over to see........
..........

who was it i hear you ask............................................

we were the honoured guests who got to see..........

Dan Brown's new book The Lost Symbol which comes out later today around 10am
and we were given our own copies to take home. So i was one of the very first people in the UK to receive a hard back copy of the new book
so now i sit tapping away unable to sleep at 2.14 am still excited and if that was not enough i have an exclusive

i will be filming as an extra on noel clarkes new film called "4321" at the moment.
i will be on set 6am-5pm wed-friday so i probably wont get time to log on so i will update you next week as dh takes part in the prostate cancer ride on saturday

so once again a huge!!!!!!!!!!! thanx to Phunkygal for all her codes and competition links

Jeez, food at midnight and the surprise wasn't Tom Hanks! You seem to have had a good night though, I would have been dead on my feet at that time!

Yes it was me who also won this competition, it was a great night.

I got to the hotel just after 8.30pm, we didn't want to be the first to arrive but when we got there lots of people were already there. We were served olives, veg crisps and nuts to go with our wine, beer or soft drinks and at 9.10pm we were ushered into the screeing room for the film. The screening room in the Soho hotel is very plush and I was particularly taken with the cowhide sofas, which were gorgeous.

I hadn't yet gotten round to seeing the film either but had read the book quite a while back. Thought the film was very good though the book is a lot better, the two something hours flew by, though it could have something to do with the lovely glass of white wine I took into the screening with me.

The goody bag which we were given was very nice and the new novel just after midnight finished the evening off very nicely.

I didn't do an interview as am too shy, :Embarrassed: But very well done to anteena1 for doing it.

So thanks again to Phunky for all her competition finds. o/ Both OH and I had a wonderful time.
