Should I subscribe to times+?
Hello, I usually watch my free screenings through virgin media or sff, however I've noticed these have been a little sparse lately. Is it worth signing up and p*ying the subscription to times+? It seems they offer quite regular screenings but I have never read the paper and to be honest doubt I would start either. Also I only have odeon, vue or cinema city cinemas in my area so cineworld screenings are no good to me

Re: Should I subscribe to times+?
in my honest opinion, times plus is not worth it, the competition wins rarely happen, the offers are shit4brains and over charge you anyway (they somehow offer you the most expensive offers in the world that you couldn't afford anyway), and the free downloads are paltry and you can get them elsewhere.
The papers are well written on the whole but if you don't read them then why bother.
However if you live right next to one of the cinemas it regularly covers (and it tends to cover the same ones each month) then a free ticket or two each month via their cheapest package might be just about cheaper than b*ying the tickets themselves. If you live in an area where the cinema is relatively cheap anyway, its probably not worth it.

Re: Should I subscribe to times+?
If I am not mistaken, the cheapest package giving access to Times subscribers benefits (Digital pack) is £55 for 3 months at the moment. This is quite steep, but as Raj mentioned, depending on where you leave and most importantly if you are fast enough to grab free tickets, £55 might (or might not!) cover the price of 3 pairs of ticket.
You might want to keep an eye on EBay, as you can sometimes find people offering a 3-months Digital pack vouchers/Gift Cards. I got one for £20 once
edit: I just checked the Times website, and they seem to offer half price trial Digital pack at £2 a week for 3 months then £4/week. (I guess you could probably cancel after 3 months)

No, not just to get cinema tickets and if you don't read the paper. I'm a subscriber, but I, well someone in my family, reads the paper. It's worth it just cos we would b*y the Sunday Times.

The £2 per month is for three months then £4 thereafter and includes Times+, but it's a minimum 12 month sign up according to the small print.
I suspect they'll do what they did last time, as the screenings never filled up they put them out as available to non members too.

So basically, if you have a Cineworld nearby, this would be cheaper for you to get an Unlimited card and go to the cinema for "free" this way.
(You could also get a free Orange/EE sim card to profit from the Wednesday 2 for 1)

For some odd reason I thought Orange had stopped this? But what do I know, I'm 10 years behind everyone else :).Celini wrote:So basically, if you have a Cineworld nearby, this would be cheaper for you to get an Unlimited card and go to the cinema for "free" this way.

In short, yes and then you can see absolutely everything they are showing.
Sadly it's Vue that's closest to me at home. Cineworld is walkable from work but then I get stuck the wrong side of town at night with a slightly dodgy walk to the nearest bus home. Not wholly tempting either.
I wish Vue did a Cineworld type card, although Cineworld have better film selection and choice.

Re: Should I subscribe to times+?
No Sunny, Orange still have their EE/Orange Wednesday scheme. Don't you go to the cinema anymore? I would slap all these Bacons in the face.
I think we are rather lucky in London, even if you don't have a Cineworld really nearby, they are quite well spread. Plus some cinemas are more orientated blockblusters and other more independent/smaller releases.
Since I have a Cineworld card, I can't even be bothered to go to the previews...

This is a trial offer an can be cancelled after three months, well I think its 15 days before the 3 months when you need to cancel. Its all in the small print.alythonian wrote:The £2 per month is for three months then £4 thereafter and includes Times+, but it's a minimum 12 month sign up according to the small print.
