Only Lovers Left Alive

#1 Post by LondonCityNights » Tue Dec 10, 2013 3:20 pm

Caught a preview of this last night. One word: wow.

Perhaps the single best vampire film I've ever seen, stunningly beautiful from start to finish, darkly funny and sexily, stylishly cool. It's a Jim Jarmusch film so the pace is somewhat languid, but you can just wallow in the gorgeous production design, the insanely attractive Tom Hiddleston + Tilda Swinton and the great soundtrack.

What a stunner. Here's hoping it gets a decent set of previews before release:

Thank god I can finally talk about this. I caught it at LFF and have to say I fully agree with LondonCityNights. Love. It. So. Much.

Sorry, my mind drifted just reading your review. I have a strong feeling I would positively hate this film. For a start, I hate Tilda Swinton, and I think Jim Jarmush is an acquired taste.

Btw, what happened to the first two pictures you posted in your review? They look just a bit out of shape...

The pictures look fine on my computer - anyone else having problems with them?

To be honest, if you hate Tilda Swinton and aren't really into films where not much of note happens then I'd give this a miss. I have a feeling that the extended shots of Swinton wandering around Tangiers or lounging on a sofa would drive you up the wall.

Sorry, it's the second and third picture.

I think I saw Tilda Swindon last in I am Love. I HATED the film.

This is a really creepy thing to say out of context but if I had to only watch one thing for the rest of my life I'd be happy if it were them sleeping.

I think Tom Hiddleston in that particular scene actually turned me a little bit gay.

I adore both Swinton and Hiddleston, and can't wait to see this movie. I will even shout out loud that I will p*y to go and watch it. Not many movies that make me want to part with cash.
