Beautiful. Heartstoppingly romantic. Sumptuous landscapes and costumes. Great actors. An inspiring story. I cried like a baby.

9/10

P.S. Ha, I was right - the evil brother was played by Draco Malfoy!

meh.

Ok for a Sunday night on ITV2, maybe.

How many times were the same sets / street scenes used & re-used ? Done on the cheap & it shows.

4/10 (mum loved it...grrrr)

I'm not a fan of costume dramas, but thought this was wonderful.

Inspiring drama and a touching, believable romance. Plus a couple of real funny lines.

A real treat, I was hanging on every word by the end, so glad I didn't give it a miss 9/10

A beautiful, intelligent film. I had no idea before watching, that it would be about such an important part of history.

Heartrending at times but a joy to watch.

I really enjoyed this. Thoughtful and poignant and beautifully told story. I grew up near Scone Palace where the original painting hangs and on reflecting when I came out of the cinema realised I went to school with the current nieces of the Earl of Mansfield! Small world really.

I would highly recommend this if you have any interest in history. I also commend The length of the judgement in the court case, more if that these days needed!

8/10 from me.

Saw this in Braehead tonight with Fmukers minus scootermcc! :p
Chaos at Braehead as more than half the seats were cordoned off in the room as the seats had been cleaned and were not quite dry! Once seats almost full, some folk decided to ignore the 'police tape' and started to try and find dry seats . . .fun to watch! Then someone in cinema decided to provide plastic bags for folk to sit on! More fun watching some Times readers coming in with their plastic bag to sit on. All this before we even got to the film.
I really enjoyed the film and was very surprised by
the real painting at the end and details of the real people
The costumes were beautiful and so were the 2 young ladies.
The film had everything in it: historical, racial history, politics, legal history, romance . . .
Marks 9/10
Preferred cinemas: Best: Glasgow Quay, Glasgow Braehead, Glasgow Renfield Street, Glasgow Fort & Paisley
Others I'd go to: Glasgow Showcase Baillieston
