Some advice regarding tomorrow's premiere
The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies World Premiere - Fan access information
27 Nov 2014
Update: please be reassured that there will be access to pens for fans arriving on Monday. The provision of Sunday wristbands was put in place to allow those fans who arrive at Leicester Square early to leave and return.
Due to overwhelming demand we have allocated all of the wristbands for today (Sunday). For fans arriving tomorrow (Monday) there will still be access to the fan pens, however this will be allocated on first come first served basis and as with all events of this nature a place is not guaranteed.
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies World Premiere is happening in London this Monday December 1 and for those lucky ones who’ll be able to view all the glitz and glamour from one of the pens, here’s a list of instructions you need to read on how to attain access to the event and the rules you need to adhere to.
There will be no guaranteed access to the public viewing area without a wristband.
Wristbands will be issued from 12 noon on Sunday 30th November by security on a first come first serve basis.
The wristbands are numbered and will be placed on the spectator’s wrist immediately and will not be transferable. Once your wristband is on, you should leave Leicester Square and not return until Monday 1st December at 12 noon when the pens are loaded.
Wristbands will be issued from the Odeon West End on Leicester Square.
Access to the crowd pens will be for those with a number on the wristband.
Should your wristband become lost or damaged, there will be no automatic right of re-admission during the event
Security will give instructions on the day to help you safely into the viewing areas. They will be dressed in high visibility jackets therefore easy to identify. Please listen to their instructions
Any public who are found to be blocking doorways or the public footpath or restricting public or vehicle access in any way will not be issued a wristband and will be asked to move.
Tents or camping will not be permitted on or around Leicester Square as it restricts access along the public footpath.
There will be random bag searches of all public in the viewing areas in operation so we advise you to bring as little baggage as possible.
Please take all your rubbish with you and keep the area clean.
Please dress appropriately for the weather.
The organisers reserve the right to refuse admission to, remove or exclude any person whose behaviour gives rise to concerns regarding the health and safety of the public, security, staff or themselves.
Where someone is found to be in possession of an item that gives rise to health and safety concerns as above, they will be refused admission, removed and be reported to the police.
For those of you unable to attend the event, make sure you tune into our player below where you’ll be able to view the World Premiere from the comfort of your own sofa.

Re: The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies
Saw the screening at West india Quay tonight really enjoyed great effects and amazing battle scenes.
The beginning of the film was much different from what I expected it to be but then I've not read the books.
Can't see many people not enjoying this 9/10.

Re: The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies
Saw this in Glasgow tonight with some Fmukers though Yinster was noticeable by her absence! Very surprised!
The Green 'red carpet' time was far too long and repeated in parts. We also had several blank screens. I was surprised that the film did not start until 8.25pm given we were told doors open at 7.15 and to be seated by 7.45. One of our laughs was watching folk make return visits to the toilet before the film started as they'd been there for almost 2 hours!
I really enjoyed the film and never looked at my watch once. This film was in total contrast to the recent Hunger Games film as The Hobbit was totally action packed! It was more or less what I expected it to be. Beautiful scenic shots and great make-up and acting by everyone.
In some ways I'm sorry the films are now finished . . .though I am happy that all the films were of a similar high standard.

Re: The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies
To my knowledge there was no screening at West India Quay? The only London one apart from the premiere itself was at the O2. And what a kerfuffle that was. Arrived at 6.30pm to find people being let in already and most of the back row gone. It was a tiny screen and all! An usher was then overheard saying that we would get the red carpet footage at 7.30pm and the film at 8.30pm. That was bad enough already but the red carpet footage never materialised due to a technical problem so we watched the live stream on shmile's iPad instead. Thankfully the film then started at 8.20pm when the red carpet was still in full swing.
It was all worth it though for the final instalment. The film fleshed out what the book hadn't mentioned, and we got some amazing battle scenes. Wouldn't want to sit through it again but it was a worthy final act.
Going to sleep now.

Re: The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies
I thought it sucked. A load of clanging CG rubbish that completely swallows up the human element. Why does one character have a good/bad switch? What happens to that stone everyone's after? Do they expect us to care about this wooden romance? And the endless sequences of faceless helmeted man whacking each other - so dullllllllll.
And I largely enjoyed the previous two as well. What a disappointment.

Re: The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies
Well, I landed, rushed home, dumped my luggage and headed to the 02 and got there at 6.40 to be told that the red carpet was at 7.30pm and film would start at 8.30pm. They were the best security I have met so far, kept you updated, and they let us save our seats and go out to get something to eat, which I was really grateful for as was starving after my flight and a day of travelling. They then could not start the live feed and then told us that they would start the film 10 minutes early, despite telling us that we could not see the film before the red carpet finishes.
What a turnout of FMUKers, although missed Beate and shmile. Lovely to see vealster, funthing, c_t, livi92, elski, rawsalsa and missgotty.
Well I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it was well worth the wait. Visually amazing. The battle scenes too were amazing. 8/10
