hateful 8

#1 Post by newdot » Mon Dec 21, 2015 10:05 pm

Huge Tarantino fan......disliked each new movie of his upon release (when compared to previous QT movies)...only to subsequently recognize his genius...

...and so to the Hateful 8....

QT has made it quite clear that he sees his future as a writer for the stage. He claims that he will soon retire as a film director.

Well, this might be all the evidence required. Makes film in 70mm, 90% of it shot in a single room. Not seen anything as stage-bound since Reservoir Dogs. But this ain't no Reservoir Dogs.

Will probably come to love this & will certainly b*y blu ray, but do not love it right now. Time to say goodbye to Tim Roth & Micheal Madson, surely ?

hateful 8/10 I guess.

As far as I know it's only showing at the Odeon Leicester Square in the UK (from 8th January).

Some of us (including 'very annoyed' from Durham) are going to find it difficult to see this film! :wall:

UK cinema chains drop The Hateful Eight after screening row.

Three leading UK cinema chains will not show Quentin Tarantino's new movie The Hateful Eight after a dispute with the film's distributor.

Cineworld, its subsidiary Picturehouse and Curzon, which own some 135 cinemas between them, will not screen the film.

Odeon and Vue - the two other biggest chains - will be showing it.

The western, which stars Kurt Russell, Samuel L Jackson and Jennifer Jason Leigh, has had glowing reviews and been nominated for three Golden Globes.

Its distributor, Entertainment Film, said Cineworld and Curzon had decided not to show it because they objected to a deal with Odeon to have the exclusive rights for London's West End.

The Odeon Leicester Square will show the film in a "70mm Ultra Panavision presentation" - a format not used for almost 50 years.
