Centurion - New Neil Marshall film
Britain, A.D. 117. Quintus Dias, the sole survivor of a Pictish raid on a Roman frontier fort, marches north with General Virilus' legendary Ninth Legion, under orders to wipe the Picts from the face of the Earth and destroy their leader, Gorlacon.
No trailer for it online yet but it is Neil Marshall's 4th film.
I got 2 tickets for it last night at a pre-marketing screening at Vue Romford.
What they do is let you watch the film and then complete a survey about it after (what you liked/disliked about it/what age group it will appeal to/would you recommend it/how they should market it) so they can maximise the marketing of the film and give feedback.
Cinema was about 98% full and good buzz. Screening was thru a company called First Movies (not to be confused with first4movies recently set up)
This all come about as I was in a pub at the weekend and a guy was coming round trying to hand out pieces of paper to people. I thought it was salvation army or something like that but turns out to be invites to free screening- and the film isnt even due out until March/April - RESULT !!!!
Me and a mate watched it last night. In the vein of Gladiator but a tad more gruesome in places. Overall v good- Michael Fassbender, Liam Cunningham, Dominic West, some other good british actors and the bond girl from Quantum of Solace are in it. Some light humour never goes a miss in a Neil marshall film, and this is no different.
Def. say it is one for the blokes more as no real romance in it.
Will keep my eyes peeled for future screening and advise everyone else to keep their eyes out next time someone tries to approach them in a pub before dismissing them !!!!
