The Back Up Plan

The Back Up Plan

After years of dating, Zoe (Jennifer Lopez) has decided waiting for the right one is taking too long. Determined to become a mother, she commits to a plan, makes an appointment and decides to go it alone. On the day of her artificial insemination , Zoe meets Stan (Alex O’Loughlin) – a man with real possibilities. Trying to nurture a budding relationship and hide the early signs of pregnancy becomes a comedy of errors for Zoe and creates confusing signals for Stan. When Zoe nervously reveals the reason for her unpredictable behavior, Stan commits fully and says he’s in. Never before has love seen a courtship where a wild night of sex involves three in a bed – Stan, Zoe and the ever-present massive pregnancy pillow. Or, where “date night” consists of being the “focal point” at a near-stranger’s water birth which does for kiddie pools what “Jaws” did for swimming in the ocean.

Director: Alan Poul

One word review: dire.

3/10 from me. I'm never going to watch another film "starring" Jennifer Lopez. :wall:

I didn't think it was that bad!

I had a really stressful weekend and Mon/Tuesday of horrors so took myself off to the cinema on Wednesday afternoon. This was the only thing on in the hour I arrived that I hadn't seen so in I went.

I actually quite enjoyed it as total escapism. Yes it was complete nonsence and the story was 99% unrealistic but it destressed me probably as watching it required no brain power whatsoever.

Not a fan of JL generally but the bloke in the film - he was worth going to see the film!

Story 2/10
escapism - 7/10

Cheers

At a lose end yesterday afternoon and had my ticket from the £1 deal that they never took from my account - so it was free!

Quite enjoyed it. Okay it was the usual predictable stuff but relaxing and worth watching with a few laughs.

There were 20 of us at this afternoon showing - well actually 19 plus a BABY! This wasn't a parent and child screening so I was most annoyed when I saw a young couple come in with a young baby in a buggy and carry the buggy up the stairs to the back of the cinema. The baby started to cry loudly and I was ready to go out and say something to the staff when the mother brought out a bottle to feed the baby who then fortunately slept the whole time.
Are they allowed a baby so young into any screening? I have never seen that before perhaps because it was about Jennifer Lopez having a baby they thought it would be okay.

6 out of 10 as it gave me a free screening and I had nothing else to do.
