Everyman/Screen Club - At A Price

I've only been waiting a year (yes, really) since registering my possible interest in the above. The e-mail arrived today and they want £38 for annual membership, plus you have to ring a premium rate number to join. Benefits are either not worth having (e.g. advance booking, which also costs extra by 'phone or internet) or unavailable (e.g. complimentary champagne, but only at 2 London locations) or vague (e.g. "member treats and rewards"). Needless to say, I shan't be joining, only sounding off here about what a rip-off this scheme seems.
