The Final Destination
On what should have been a fun-filled day at the races, Nick O'Bannon has a horrific premonition in which a bizarre sequence of events causes multiple race cars to crash, sending flaming debris into the stands, brutally killing his friends and causing the upper deck of the stands to collapse on him. When he comes out of this grisly nightmare Nick panics, persuading his girlfriend, Lori, and their friends, Janet and Hunt, to leave... escaping seconds before Nick's frightening vision becomes a terrible reality.
Thinking they've cheated death, the group has a new lease on life, but unfortunately for Nick and Lori, it is only the beginning. As his premonitions continue and the crash survivors begin to die one-by-one--in increasingly gruesome ways--Nick must figure out how to cheat death once and for all before he, too, reaches his final destination. The film marks the latest in the highly popular "Final Destination" series, and its first 3D installment, giving horror fans an especially visceral thrill ride.

This should have ended with the first film, unique concept at first but now just becomming rather mundane and tiredsum, will not be watching the movie unless persuaded or previewed.a_person wrote:On what should have been a fun-filled day at the races, Nick O'Bannon has a horrific premonition in which a bizarre sequence of events causes multiple race cars to crash, sending flaming debris into the stands, brutally killing his friends and causing the upper deck of the stands to collapse on him. agreed. first one was good, second one was ok, third one was poor. I don't really have any desire to see a 3D version either. They could at least try and change the storyline a bit morenath789 wrote:This should have ended with the first film, unique concept at first but now just becomming rather mundane and tiredsum, will not be watching the movie unless persuaded or previewed.a_person wrote:On what should have been a fun-filled day at the races, Nick O'Bannon has a horrific premonition in which a bizarre sequence of events causes multiple race cars to crash, sending flaming debris into the stands, brutally killing his friends and causing the upper deck of the stands to collapse on him. I agree.. first one was by far the best .. however i still think of the sunbed scene anytime I go for a sunbed which freaks me out a bit... think thats in the 3rd one... Cant wait to see it in 3D as all of them have had bits in which had me jumping off my seat..

Re: The Final Destination
Hey, I wouldn't mind seeing a preview of this, but it's a little rarer that they do previews for sequels

I don't fly well at the best of times. But ever since the first film I have to make sure that the wee tab that holds the tray up is straight - if it is wonky I have to straighten it!! Mind you, my fear of flying is so bad that I hate going to the loos on a plane, 'cos if I go to the loo I can't hear the engines - and if I can't hear the engines HOW DO I KNOW THAT THEY ARE STILL WORKING!!!!!!!!! aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Re: The Final Destination
If an engine fails suddenly, the whole plane will shudder - including the toilet. Then again a bit of turbulance will do much the same.

Yeah, but the difference is that the 'fasten seat belt' light will come on automatically, and the cabin crew will tell you it is turbulence!steve9872 wrote:If an engine fails suddenly, the whole plane will shudder - including the toilet. Then again a bit of turbulance will do much the same.![]()
Chill - you cannot hear the engines on many planes now unless you are sitting very close to them, or they are in that reverse thrust thing on landing. And if you can hear them, you might confuse engine failure with the reduction in engine noise when they are in descent.Calicocat wrote: Mind you, my fear of flying is so bad that I hate going to the loos on a plane, 'cos if I go to the loo I can't hear the engines - and if I can't hear the engines HOW DO I KNOW THAT THEY ARE STILL WORKING!!!!!!!!! aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Worry when, after being diverted from one airport to another, and having circled for 40 minutes, the pilot says "We are out of fuel so we have to attempt to land, even though the windspeed and direction are not favourable. Please remove all shoes and adopt the brace position." But even that will probably turn out OK. (I'm still here!
Or when you overhear the cabin crew being asked (in Dutch, assuming that the UK passenger right next to them cannot understand Dutch) if they are willing to fly from a known terrorist hotspot, when the number of suitcases is greater than those which should be on the plane... (Apparently, they have to inform the crew, but not the passengers.)
Also don't worry, or you hear a big bang and a flash of fire that appears to be on the engine. It may be just a lightning strike.
Generally, you should not worry on a plane from a reputable airline. Flying is much safer than cars and trains. Most pilots want to live, and are very well trained.
Watch this to see an amazing landing which shows a pilot's skill!
And if there is one of these rare freak accidents, engine problems or bombs, well, take consolation in the fact that you probably will not know.. (Oh. that is a bit morbid!
