F3lix and Logi, please tell me how to hold back the tears because I had no control over it while seeing UP this evening, it kept trickling down...help! Its not right damn it....Damn Pixar, they keep doing this to me! I mean UP was absolutely beautiful, funny and poignant and had me weeping already 10 minutes into the movie and not for the only time during the film either. Pixar for me have always been like God to me ever since the 80s when they were just making 5-10 minute shorts. So unfairly, I have stupidly high expectations for every film they make. Yet, they never disappoint. I rank this UP there with Finding Nemo and Toy Story. The dogs were absolutely hilarious and the villain looked suspiciously like Kirk Douglas, I wonder if that was deliberate.

Love the short movie at the beginning too! So much better than their last one, The Magician (shown before Wall-E) which I thought was their weakest short.

I was at the Surrey Quays screening and THANKFULLY was NOT in 3D! I'm sorry but 3D is too much of a distraction for me when it comes to feature length movies. I love 3D as a ride attraction in theme parks (like Universal Studios and Disney World) and for some short documentaries at an IMAX. But not with feature length films.

10/10

Happy now a_person? :D

I also loved this film, it was great. I'd also give it 10/10. Also enjoyed the short cloud movie at the beginning.

Went to see this last night, I loved it. It had something for kids and adults. It’s my favourite animated film ever, I’m going to see it again when its out in 3D, I give it 9/10. o/

Went to see this last night at Silverlink. Cinema about 95%+ full I think. Loads of kids!

I though Partly Cloudy (is that what it was called?) was excellent. 9/10 for that, great work on the shorts as always.

I was saying to Mrs 1978 that I think Pixar don't do humans as well as they do animals/robots/monsters, and I'm inclined to go with this again. There always feels like there's a certain element missing.

Difficult to explain, but there you go.
Anyway, the subject matter at times is quite dark for Pixar, including loss of a baby, death, grief and greed. Not that there's anything wrong with this, but it's quite ambitious. Also, I'm pretty certain that the explorer bloke would have died in the fall. Is this the first Pixar film with a killing in it? Furthermore, I didn't think the end was up to much. With the likes of Wall-E and Monsters Inc you get great closure, this ending had no impact at all.
Away from that, the colours are amazing, as is the detail and animation. But would any less be expected from Pixar?

6.5/10 - a good watch, but nowhere near the dizzy heights of other Pixar films for me.

Typical high production quality from Pixar, and the best film I've seen for a while so it gets an 8/10 from me :).

Saw it at Shaftesbury Avenue - about 99% full! It was in 3D which was fun but given the angles of soem of the seats, not necessarily ideal. Was fine for the most part though, and Beate I think we must have been at the same one, as they let us keep the glasses.

Anyway, the film... Loved it! A really exciting film with lots of ups and downs (though nothing made me cry and I usually cry at anything, so surprised to see some of the comments here). Lots of heart warming moments, but now Mr Anakin is back wanting a dog again. Sigh... thanks a lot Pixar! (And no, we're not getting one. Ever.) Would happily watch it again. Also loved "Partly Cloudy"!

A great film I'd quite happily watch again 8/10 from me.
