They probably want you to recycle the paper and save the environment.

i think the sky reps are just dogsbodys, they dont have a method. Sometimes they have a pretty face and often they have a loud voice, but I am sure they dont have a plan.

You know those people who have a loud voice trying to sound confident (for no real reason) but when you look at their eyes you can see they are unsure what they are doing? thats what they come across as.

Annoys me when they don't take them because it wastes paper. If they want to recycle, they can do that themselves. They ought to reintroduce the text tickets. Can someone tell Luke about this please!

Policy is for SKY (cos I was chatting to the sky rep) is
IF whatever reason they cannot show the preview that evening they will email all those affected to let them know and usually an alternative date is given.
They will also offer you an opportunity to see another film that evening OR give you a voucher if you don't want to see anything else.

That's actually quite nice of them. I had the projector break in Dublin Cineworld a couple years ago and I really had to be a bit pushy to get any form of compensation!

Hi,
I am Virgin Media customer for a while but I never was lucky enough to get any tickets from their side. How does it work? It would be so nice to get some tickets one day. I could always pass them to somebody else here if I was not interested in a particular movie:-)
I don't believe in bad luck I just have a feeling I don't know everything.
And of course I couldn't get tickets for "American Pie Reunion"
:(

It works just like all the others, you have to be quick enough to get tickets when they're released. In this case there was forewarning from last wednesday and during the day on thursday that the Virgin tickets for American Pie would go live at midnight on thursday the 12th April so people stayed up to get them.

I spoke to the Virgin girl for a bit as she recognised me from other screenings. So she explained to me about this new process. Virgin now wants to know who (the name of the ticketholder and the actual barcode number) is actually coming to these screenings and whether they are regular or not to the screenings. All this information is manually written down and sent to Virgin. However through data protection the reps do not keep the etickets but give it back to the cinema managers.

She does this whilst we watch the film. However by the sound of other screening depending on the rep, they may do it whilst you hand in your ticket to them.

It's very laborious - you would think reps would be provided with a scanner to save time and ensure accuracy. And what would this info show Virgin anyway?

Funny enough I did suggest a scanner and for her to suggest a scanner. The only problem with a barcode scanner is they cost about £300 for one as we use them for ticket checks at work. And it would all depend on if Virgin will actually spend some money for them. The other problem with the ticket scanners you see at events need the internet or a router for them to work and a central computer. Which cost more money.
