Re: The Box
Yeh I don't really like him, he's quite annoying. I should be watching this on Sunday but that depends..... So I don't want to know what happens. I was originally looking forward to this when I first saw a trailer for it but after all the crap reviews, I've been really put off. Oh well I'll just pass my tickets onto someone else.

Re: The Box
Isn't it a hard film to not give the plot away? Then again they are probably trying to show everything in the trailers in the hope of enticing someone to see the film after all the negative reviews.

Re: The Box
Lol. Yes true but I like to pretend I don't know any better. It's quite obvious but I don't want it ruined by parts of screenings.
Something tells me this will be a real bad movie.

Re: The Box
I agree, think that it looks really good.
Good Director - Richard Kelly; check
Hot Female Lead - Cameron Diaz; check
Solid Support Actor - Frank Langella; check
Good Lead Actor - James Marsden; errrmmm
It's the only thing putting me off as lets face it, Mr Marsden doesnt exactly set the world on fire.

Re: The Box
Superhero - there's giving the basic plot details out and then there's giving the plot away!
All people need to really know is that the couple are given a box with a button inside it by a mysterious stranger, and then they are told that they will get $1m if they press it but that someone they don't know will die.
But anybody p*ying attention to the clips shown during Film 2009 would know whether the button is pressed (although it would be a very short film if someone didn't!), exactly who presses it, and then what the consequences are...
Interestingly enough, for those who know the original story or TV version, I think it may have also revealed that the twist ending might be slightly different in this new version which might even be enough of a reason for going to see it now...

Re: The Box
Saw this last night....appallingly bad, i was shocked to say the least. The plot begins well enough but then descends into surreal territory that makes no sense whatsoever, there are particular scenes that were so farcical i was half tempted to walk out of the cinema lol deinately not one to watch at the cinema, 1/10

Re: The Box
I went and watched it....
0.05/10. (I'm being kind here.)
For a moment, I thought it "somewhat" had a story line. Then it disappointed me so much at the end. My friend whose choice it was to watch it, forced me to the end even though I kept asking during 20 intervals "Are you sure you don't want to give this a miss?" The best part was just watching trailers. Avatar looked good as did The Lovely Bones.
Arghhhh Beate, those ushers at WIQ could do with a kick up the backside.
I sat second row from the top in the middle and after the film started, this group of six teens came in. Four came and sat next to me and remember that time you watched some movie and they wouldn't stop yapping? These ones were having full blown conversations throughout the movie. To top it up, they kept giggling AND they b*ght large packets of popcorn and were having a food fight in the middle of the film.
Seeing as I was sitting next to them, you can guess who got hit by their popcorn.
Stuck to my t-shirt. :mad
Ended up having to scream at the bunch of them in the middle of the cinema which made everybody turn around and look at me.
Numerous people complained yet the ushers did absolutely nothing. The popcorn was all over the floor and seats and then to make it even more lovely, the boy got his phone out and started playing music. I mean WTF??? Never have I sat next to such a young bunch of uncivilised people - sounds rude? Not half as rude as they were...
