Re: Rock of Ages
I saw this last night (thanks to prettyxcool for the tickets) and liked it. I've not seen the show and am not a musical fan but give it a 7/10 for entertainment value. Even found myself silently humming along to some of the songs!

Re: Rock of Ages
Well I gotta say this movie improves considerably upon second viewing. All the critisism in my previous review still stands but for some reason it didn't bother me at all while watching it last night (possibly because I knew what to expect and could enjoy it just for what it was - a 2 hour long fantastic 80s soundtrack). One thing I d want to add is that there wasn't nearly enough of Lonny in the film, I actually really like Russell's portrayal as the character and the film could've done with some more funny/witty lines and fourth wall breaking which he could've easily provided. Ah well. I totally whooped and cheered during "Can't Fight This Feeling". Loved it.
Also, because the singalong print was stuck in customs WB promised to invite us again when it had arrived (we got a regular screening last night instead though of course that didn't stop us from still singing along!) and as an apology we all got a Rock of Ages bandana and the coolest leather studded ROA bracelet ever (I'm totally wearing mine with pride today... at work).
Upping my rating to a 9.5 for sheer entertainment factor.

Rock of Ages' Surprise Celebrity Cameo Revealed!
As if the cast of Rock of Ages isn't star-studded enough, we're happy to reveal that there's a supersecret surprise celeb cameo in the flick! And we have the inside scoop on how director Adam Shankman made it happen.
So who should you be on the lookout for when the flick comes out Friday?
It's Julianne's Dancing With the Stars brother Derek Hough!
And you won't believe the scene he's in—the one that features Julianne pole-dancing.
"In the strip club, of all places, which is really weird," Derek, 27, told us at the Rock of Ages premiere in Hollywood. "I was just there visiting, and I walked in and Adam was like, 'Sit down there.'"
However, it wasn't long before Derek had enough of Julianne's stripper moves.
He laughed, "It was just funny because once she started dancing and doing the whole thing, I was like, 'I think I'm going to go now.'"

Okay I did some research and found some noteworthy cameos:
The Rolling Stone receptionist is: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2554352/
I believe this is the interviewer: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0287182/
Some of the rockers during "We Built This City" are Joel Hoekstra (in the band of the stage show on Broadway), Debbie Gibson, Skid Row's Sebastian Bach and REO Speedwagon's Kevin Cronin.
Full credits in case you guys recognise any other names:
