Ohhh! I know who the actor is, but didn't remember his character in the film ;) Thanks for clearing that up.

i am not into rock at all. friends even refused to come after seeing the trailer but it was, in the end, very softly sold. thought the leads should have had better voices. hated Russel b (always do and that accent - ugg) but though alec baldwin was good, considering. and, shocked myself by realising tom cruise was great in this role think he stole the show. and this just cemented my love for mary j's voice.

6/10

I liked this but didn't love it. I think it would be good to go to a sing-along version of this just to add some atmosphere, that is why I liked the theatre version better. The audience was more enthusiastic!

Overall I thought Tom Cruise was a stand out in this. It may be unfashionable to say this but I do generally like Tom Cruise as an actor. I love most of his films so I don't automatically expect him to disappoint or act 'strange'. The two leads were quite bland but it wasn't awful. I think it does help if you have some appreciation for that type of music. Mary J Blige was a nice surprise as was Russell Brand (I felt his accent got a lot stronger half way through the film!) - yes I really didn't p*y any attention to the trailers. Not sure about the Catherine Zeta Jones casting

Think I will give it 6.5/10. Might have been better with a more lively audience to soak up all the cheese!

[spoiler]As if the cast of Rock of Ages isn't star-studded enough, we're happy to reveal that there's a supersecret surprise celeb cameo in the flick! And we have the inside scoop on how director Adam Shankman made it happen.

So who should you be on the lookout for when the flick comes out Friday?

It's Julianne's Dancing With the Stars brother Derek Hough!

And you won't believe the scene he's in—the one that features Julianne pole-dancing.

"In the strip club, of all places, which is really weird," Derek, 27, told us at the Rock of Ages premiere in Hollywood. "I was just there visiting, and I walked in and Adam was like, 'Sit down there.'"

However, it wasn't long before Derek had enough of Julianne's stripper moves.

He laughed, "It was just funny because once she started dancing and doing the whole thing, I was like, 'I think I'm going to go now.'"

I haven't a clue who he is
Wasn't he the blond one that was Cheryl Cole's 'friend' after she split with Cashely the first time?
Yip, that's him Julianne is girlfriend of Ryan Seacrest - him off American Idol.
