I think they're showing it in 48fps too, which I'm very curious to see.
Who knows, maybe they'll procure it specially for our screening

Wonder if there's any way to find out for sure.

I was just looking at the booking page here: http://www.cineworld.co.uk/whatson?cinema=79 (Hobbit Available Format only lists 3d, not specifying HFR)
And in contrast with something like...this: http://www.odeon.co.uk/fanatic/film_inf ... ey_HFR_3D/ where HFR is clearly differentiated, i just assumed it wasn't playing.
Maybe they just assumed people wouldn't care or something?

Re: The Hobbit
Well I'm seeing it tomorrow morning at the Empire Leicester Square. I wonder what it will be shown in? Especially as I'll probably be extremely hung overmrflunchy wrote:Well, the 02 is on this list of cinemas showing it in 48fps:TheOnes wrote:I don't think they are. Re: The Hobbit
I just spoke to the cinema, and they informed me that the Sky Superscreen can't do 48FPS as apparently it's too big.TheOnes wrote:I don't think they are. Re: The Hobbit
Well people tend to prefer to see films in IMAX when possible since it is a better viewing experience, and the same applies for HFR.
HFR 3D represents a technological advancement in the motion picture experience. This innovative format presents the picture in 48 frames per second (fps), which is closer to what the human eye actually sees. This is twice the rate of the standard 24 fps, which is the current format in cinemas worldwide.

Re: The Hobbit
Well I have no idea if there was any difference at all. To my old eyes it just looked the same. As usual I ended up taking off the glasses at times. When you wear glasses and then have the really big heavy 3d ones on top, it gives me a bit of a headache.
So I won't talk about the film apart from saying it is Bloody Long, and for me personally a bit repetitive. Lots of beautiful scenes. Oh, and Aiden Turner and Richard Armitage
