I think it's highly unlikely that it will be dubbed. I'd walk out if it was to be honest. No objection against foreign animation being dubbed but live action dubbing is incredibly annoying.

I saw this at the London Film Festival and loved it, but a word of warning, if you hate quirky films give it a miss. This is incredibly quirky with some very broad comic performances from a lot of the cast. Personally I found it incredibly charming and inventive and spent the entire film with a big smile on my face (A rarity these days). If you love any of Jeunet's other films you should enjoy it. Although it probably lacks the romance and heart of 'Amelie'. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing it again.

Hayao Miyazaki movies these days, usually have the dubbed option. I think it has something to do with when Studio Ghibli joined forces with Disney to take his movies further than Asia

and in the case of A Prophet we didn't even get subtitles! I hope this time cineworld sheffield make sure it's got some! I some how think a quirky film will be much more difficult to follow without them.
I've seen the trailer a few times at the cinema, it reminds me most of Delicatessen so far.

Rarely is there a chance to see a free film that not only would I p*y to see on the first day of release, but that I've been looking forward to for about 2 years. Having said that, I have braced myself that it might not live up to Jeunet's best work.

I hope so! it's a french film.

We didn't get subtitles for A Prophet and 90% of the audience walked out, more of a pain if you've got up specially on a sunday morning.

The Showroom in Sheffield are having a screening on sunday too. I've posted details of how to apply for tickets in the micmacs thread in the sheffield section. http://www.fmuk.org.uk/forum/viewtopic. ... 049#p27049

I just got tickets for that alternative screening so I've tried to cancel my one on the first4movies site, it's not entirely clear what you're supposed to do so I've sent amessage through the 'contact us' form.
