Well I do see both sides of the story, I have seen many times people get very upset on MSE especially not getting into screenings/ screenings getting cancelled and bothering on abusive in their comments, but then again I still think SFF as an organisation should take time out to reply to everyone's emails and I certainly didn't expect them to right an email like that about not dealing with abusive emails...

It's a terrible excuse, though, to say "it's free, so you have no right to complain". Especially if you consider they make money out of all this...
